Reason I tried the gloss black is because I felt that after getting the window trim wrapped along with all the other gloss black on the HA that the trivalent bezels would look better in gloss black. It's minor, and easy enough to peel off, but I like it. I removed the bezels to install the wrap and it turned out perfect. Looks identical to the OEM ones.

Looks great James. Are you going to wrap the rest of the trivalent chrome on the front and back bumpers. I still have to do those two pieces than im done until I can find a nice set of 22" reps.

No I actually really like the trivalent and the only reason I did the taillights because I happen to think the gloss black kind of blends better with the dark bezel SRT lamps. That and the fact that with the window trim wrapped is kind of near by just made the trivalent bezels look too bright of a chrome.

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

I think that looks good against the white.

I agree with your assessment of the bezels looking too bright being so near to your wrapped window trim.

Painted out the rear exhaust to matte black on my HA, the bare metal from behind was an eye sore for me, even though not too visible unless behind from a distance

WOW! That really looks good. What type of paint did you use and how did you prepare the pipes for painting?

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

Thanks. I used VHT Flameproof Paint - Black, which is in a spray can. Rustoleum also makes a high heat paint, but Ive never used that one before, but similar in nature. I put it in offroad 2 to raise the vehicle, and I let the exhaust system cool down and sprayed down the pipes with diluted Chemical Guys All Clean, which is just a general citrus based degreaser(1:4 ratio), and rubbed the pipes down while still saturated and then rinsed off with hose water. I dried everything off with a leaf blower to speed up the drying process and to eliminate the water droplets. If you want to be really anal you can give everything a light sanding for better adhesion but I didn't bother. I applied 2 coats and then went through the curing process, as outlined on the can, which is just a number steps to getting the pipes hot by running the vehicle and letting it cool.

Like a boss! Not a big or overly heavy trailer but the GC HA Hemi was such a joy to tow with. MA to FL. Barely noticed I was towing anything.

Mostly used the paddle shifters and 7th seemed about right with the occasional jaunt into 8th. I did go 55 most of the way and eventually 60. Averaged about 17 mpg.

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

Looks really good. Thanks for posting. I wonder why this was a big miss from Jeep. Must be lack of parts.
