Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

MDBones is correct, there is minimal texture to the leather, but it does have some "grain" . I understand what you guys are saying with the texture vs. non-texture based on the other pics I've seen of the one with black stitching (and similar to the vehicle leather dash) but with the same logic I could say that the seats are vinyl and not leather for lacking the textured/pebbled look in the material. The armrest matches the look and feel of the seats. I took a couple of more pictures but it defiantly feels different and more leather versus the one that was in there originally. The one originally was for sure vinyl as what others have found via the sticker and feel. This one is also wrinkling like leather at the corners (see included picture of the underside)

I agree with all it still looks mismatched and not correct, but I still think it's leather, but i'd rather have black stitching to match the rest.

And the texture matches the texture of our dashes on the new ones.

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

Yeah I guess that looks like real leather. I suppose all leather will have different texture and feel since its natural. Mine definitely has more texture to it instead of the smooth look. More like the texture of the leather on the dash.

My Overland had smooth leather. My HA (now) has textured leather; it's very soft though, not rough like the dash.

To put it to rest... if it's leather or not

if Jeepguy3 chooses he can take the armrest out (3 screws) and verify the label.

But overall black stitching and leather looks best.

Actually that looks like it feels nicer than the cheapo one.im hoping to get the black stitching too but I think I'd be ok with the white stitching since my truck is white...

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

I am stunned by all the confusion, versions of leather and vinyl, cd without added tray, smooth vs textured, white vs black stitching ..,.., And how some dealers are agreeable while others are stupid. And even when they appear agreeable but can't seem to get it right! I dread the thought of having a real service issue. My prayers to all off you still in the battle for what should have been correctly installed upon delivery. Hang in, Semper Fi! No man left behind.

Semper Fi! Devil Dog

On to the next concern, if only we can find a solution to the heated front seats.

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

I'm planning to show my sa the latest Serv. Bull addressing the heated seats. If they convince me they won't trash the car, I'm gonna schedule it to be done with next oil change.

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

Last week I was in for an oil change and had them do both the uconnect and heated seat update.

Yesterday morning when it was in the high 40's in Chicago I put my seat on high heat and had to turn it off 5 minutes later. It seems that the update worked; but until it is freezing outside and the seat starts off in a much colder state, it's hard to know how well the update worked.

On another note. I was surprised that the uconnect update only installed Siri and did not update the system so we can organize the icons like in the MY16 units.

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

^^^ for future reference if you would rather avoid the dealership, the Uconnect system can be updated yourself at home and it's super easy.
As far as the heated seat update I would also be interested in hearing from you guys if it's effective or not. Based on FireRN above it sounds promising so far. I might just have to make an appointment to get that done along with having them recalibrate my auto high beams which have never worked right.

the lightest, I think it's just call "Tint" - didn't want to go too dark - just take away some of the bright redness
