Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

Well, what do ya know.. the 2nd dealer called me yesterday saying that my armrest is in. its amazing it took them a few days to get it and the first dealer still hasn't even gotten back to me yet after a month...we will see if it is the correct one but I'm hopeful..the service manager said every time they pulled up the part for the 15 it had white stitching so he ordered a 16 for me that had the black stitching. fingers crossed....

Awesome! Glad to hear another dealership knows how to take care of people.

Its funny I remember when the HA first came out and guys were saying how much they liked the white stitching on the arm rest because it matches the center console bright silver color. Regardless of what was supposed to be in the High Altitude my opinion is you never mix-match stitching colors inside the car. That and the fact that it was gross feeling vinyl still leads me to believe something was screwed up along the way and they said throw whatever we have available in that thing. Then again, the High Altitude is sort of a haj paj (sp lol?) of parts from every model so there is no telling whats supposed to be in there haha.

As a matter of fact, at first I thought the contrasting stitching was kinda nice....just like JTS writes. BUT, after getting what is supposed to be there and seeing and feeling the difference, I am soooo glad to have gotten the correct leather and black stitched arm rest. Also, it better matches the rest of the interior and what I think the High Altitude is supposed to be. It is shocking that so many dealer people don't really know exactly what the HA is. As JTS said, it is a bit Overland, a bit Summit, a bit whatever. I imagine that part of the problem is that the Grand Cherokee has such a broad range, starting from a base Laredo all the up to a fully loaded Summit. I think the SRT is in a totally different class but it also might confuse some regarding how it is equipped. All in all, when compared side by side, I now much prefer the leather arm rest. Of course, all of this is just my opinion, fwiw.

I looked back in the thread and saw that is indeed the part for someone else who got the armrest replaced... but that one was the one one with the tray.. I'm wondering if they ordered the wrong one... I'm goin in to see. wish me luck..

Good luck, but..... I think that one is going to be wrong. That is the part number they put on mine and I have 2 buttons on the front. Yours, with the CD has only 1 button.

You know what you could do, but I would never do this, is find an HA with the CD player and the correct armrest at a dealer and tell them you want to take it for a test drive. Meet your wife or gf at a location and swap out the 2 armrests.

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

Siri Eyes Free. Another strange one. Since the uConnect update. When sending text messages, while connected via Bluetooth and/or USB, there is a lag of approx. 60 seconds between ending the message and Siri asking "shall I send it?" as if she is waiting for more speech. No problem with my iPhone 6 when not connected to uConnect. This occurs when using the VR button or the home button on the iPhone. Either way I get the SIRI screen on the uConnect display. After the delay, I respond "cancel" or "send" and all works normally.

Yup. I would definitely do that. It's only about a 5 minute job to swap them and only you and Jeep Garage will know. You would be a hero!

Interesting, mine seems to be fairly quick. I would say approx a 5 seconds wait until you release the button until it talks back to you.
