Provided everything wasn't really heavily water damaged and you removed all the standing water with a cloth, I would re-condition the leather with a quality leather cleaner and condition. I use Mothers VLR to do a quick clean/condition of the leather in my HA with good results, doesn't leave behind that greasy mess of some other products

Ouch. Years ago I rented a convertible in Brownsville TX, and parked it outside wth the top down when a 10 min heavy downpour happened.

I found a local Home Depot with a rental department and got a floor dryer. The trick I learned is to have only one window open and the air circulates better.

The main thing is to keep the air circulating. If your garage has a/c, all the better. If you have a good strong portable fan, set it in one opened window to exhaust (blowing out of the car) and one window on the other side opened. Do that for a day or two. A couple of damp rid bags under the seats won't hurt, either. You should be ok.

I.....well actually my wife, did it to my 1981 Grand Prix with t-tops. Had the tops off and it started raining, pretty good. Wiped everything down and put towels on the seats and floor to soak up the water.

I remember about 3 years ago I passed a new car dealership and they had a newer Ford mustang convertible on the lot, right in front, and the top was down and it was pouring cats and dogs. I still wonder if they ever sold that car.

Does this mean you've had it done? So far I haven't heard any feedback from someone getting the "fix" as to what the specific behavior change is.

Yes. If you have your vehicle in N and open door you'll get a visual/audio notification. The lever doesn't feel weak... You have to press the side button to go from N to D or R or P... I don't remember but this may already be part of it and not recall

Since my reply post to you I've since received an official recall notification about it in the mail, which is mainly information and says they have yet to even work out the full solution and that it's expected in the later part of this year. Looking at your workorder, it looks like they are doing "Interim" fixes that do what you're outlining. Curious what the final official change will be.

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

Has anyone ever had any problems starting their HA? I have a 2015 HA, V6 3.6L, I have had 2 instances where it has been difficult or something seemed off when starting the vehicle

1) I went to start the vehicle, depressed the brake, and pressed the push start, and nothing happened, quickly on the display for probably 1 second it flashed "service electronic braking system" then the message quickly disappears. Try to depress the brake again, and push the start, nothing happens... try again, and now the brake gets solid and I can't depress it with my foot. I try to lock and unlock the car, get out, try again.... cant depress the brake or start it with the push button. I had to get out and use the remote start to start the vehcile and everything was okay then.

2) Went to start the vehicle yesterday, and the brake is solid, can barely depress it with my foot. Tried to start it anyway by pushing the brake down as much as I could with my foot and press the start button, and luckily it turned over.

I`ve only had these 2 instances with starting problems, so it doesn't seem to be a consistent thing or easy to replicate. I have a service appointment on Monday, but wanted to see if anyone else experienced this as well.

I've had a few software gremlins where the QL needs service suddenly and then the notice is gone. Luckily it's never impeded my driving or starting and seems to just be a software issue.

I kind of like the wood steering wheel. Is that the OEM like in the Overland without HA package. Where did you find it? Did you install or have it done? Just how bad on the $$$$, if you want to share that? Thanks.

It's actually the wheel from the Summit with black interior. The overland wheel has white stitching(usually).

The part #'s are:

5QV32DX9AC - wheel -
68222849AB - wiring harness

The pricing is all over the place. Just google the part #'s. You should be able to find the wheel for around $330 and the harness for about $25, plus $20-$30 shipping. I got mine from just for jeeps. They were $403, but that included free shipping. Then just for jeeps gives a 5% discount for jeep garage members that got the price down to about $380. Just for jeeps looked up the part #'s for me after giving them a vin from a summit w/ black interior, so I felt like they should get the business. You can find used wheels on Ebay, but it's hard to tell if they have damage, and most of them were from Overlands with white stitching.

My dealer charged me $70 to put it on, although they said book time was 1.5 hours so you may have to pay more. If you are mechanically inclined, you may be able to do it yourself but the control module needs to be changed to the wood wheel option, which your dealer will have to do anyway.

There is a separate thread on the wood wheel here:

Black wood steering wheel

instructions for removing the airbag and wheel is here:

2014+ WK2 Airbag Removal instructions/ Steering wheel removal
