They started using white stitching on the 15's... the 14 stitching was black.

The part #'s are:

5QV32DX9AC - wheel -
68222849AB - wiring harness

The pricing is all over the place. Just google the part #'s. You should be able to find the wheel for around $330 and the harness for about $25, plus $20-$30 shipping. I got mine from just for jeeps. They were $403, but that included free shipping. Then just for jeeps gives a 5% discount for jeep garage members that got the price down to about $380. Just for jeeps looked up the part #'s for me after giving them a vin from a summit w/ black interior, so I felt like they should get the business. You can find used wheels on Ebay, but it's hard to tell if they have damage, and most of them were from Overlands with white stitching.

My dealer charged me $70 to put it on, although they said book time was 1.5 hours so you may have to pay more. If you are mechanically inclined, you may be able to do it yourself but the control module needs to be changed to the wood wheel option, which your dealer will have to do anyway.

There is a separate thread on the wood wheel here:

Black wood steering wheel

instructions for removing the airbag and wheel is here:

2014+ WK2 Airbag Removal instructions/ Steering wheel removal
Appreciate the info. I think I don't want to mess around with the air bag so I'll talk to my dealer about it. That way, if it explodes, I won't be dead.

Or you could end up like the poor SOB I just read a story about... he had half his ear taken off when his airbag triggered.

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

Picked up my vehicle from the dealer to have the centre arm rest replaced with the black stitching as well as some other minor fixes such as the bubbling clear paint protection on the lower part and some rattling noise during bumpy surfaces. I thought it would be needing a new strut/bearing component but it turned out some joint just need tightening.

Thanks again guys for bringing attention on the black stitching. My dealer where I purchased the vehicle has been great. I'm impressed at their no hassle performance. Hope all FCA dealers were like them including FCA themselves when dealing with issues.

Anyone elses trivalent chrome trim look terrible? Just noticed it's stained with marks and they don't clean off.

Is it actually tarnished? Thought these were mostly plastic. Or could it be the high heat/sun of FL?

What are you using to clean the trim? I use a little cleaner wax and they buff up nicely.

I mostly use optimum wash n wax for maintenance. Bi-annually I use either menzerna powerlock or collinite 845 LSP. Never noticed any issues until today - had Jeep since Dec.

Hmmm I bet it's hard water stains. Just moved to FL recently. Detail fanatic that never thought twice about hard water before. Ugh!

Try a little WD-40 on a rag. I've found it does miraculous things on water marks in the shower. I bet it works for you.

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

Hey guys,

My lease is coming up on my 2014 Overland w/ the 5.7. Im faced with a few options.

I can buy the truck out (which I do not want to do since it has been nothing but a problem since day 1).

I am thinking about getting into a HA. I am curious as to the differences other than the obvious cosmetic upgrades.

My other option is ditching Jeep and getting 2017 Ram 2500 Limited with the diesel 6.7.

Any thoughts are appreciated greatly as well as any insight on upgraded features on the HA.

You should see what it looks like covered with big juicy bug splats.

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

Just found the Sport mode with the Hemi. I thought you had to use the paddle shifters which is no fun IMO. Why the hell would anyone use any other mode than Sport mode when driving??

Yeah sport mode is sweet! That is correct, just using the paddles does NOT put the vehicle in sport mode. Yanking back a notch on the shifter does (for 2014/2015 models, 2016 is now a button). It really changes the dynamics of the vehicle and makes it pretty darn fun.
As cool as it is I certainly don't use it except for those few instances when I wanna have a bit more fun. The reason I wouldn't use it all the time is mainly because it hangs it up at higher rpm when cruising. When cruising there is no reason for the thing to be purring along at 3,000rpm. So when I'm done, back into Eco I go
