You would be surprised at how many vehicles need software updates which essentially is all that's happening. Your computer at home needs them and so does these vehicles we enjoy from jeep to Aston Martin and everything in between.

Re: 2015-2016 High Altitude Owners Thread

My HA is a whole lot better than the 2014 Cherokee that I used to have. 1st-2nd and 2nd-3rd would jerk you back and forth, not to mention the TSB on the Cherokee that totally got rid of the 3-2 downshift. Only issue that I have ever had with this vehicle is the initial 1st-2nd shift in the morning. Other than that I can't even feel the thing shift.

I just expected more I guess. It's far from perfect, but mainly just an annoyance at this point I guess. And I'm just expecting the dealer to say it's normal. If it happened all the time I would say it's normal. I figured I would be wowed by a GC with a Hemi and I'm not yet. I will check with dealer next week, but I hate having them touch things and then just make things worse or screw something else up.

Have you gotten your PCM flashed... My HEMI woke up after this flash. Smoother shifts and quicker acceleration from a complete stop.

I have had nothing done to it yet. I just figure they will screw it up more.

Re: 2015-2016 High Altitude Owners Thread

Hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come, but just randomly out of the blue my 2-3 shifts started acting abnormal. My 2015 V6 HA is currently at 4100 miles. I left for work the other morning and the 2-3 shift was noticeably firmer and shifted earlier than it normally does.
The only possible variable that I could think of that changed was the outside temperature. One day was very hot like 90+ and humid, and literally the next morning was actually chilly. Back to normal temps now, but the 2-3 shift is still goofy occasionally. It's not everytime, its intermittent. The shift isn't terrible, but it is noticeably different and happened out of the blue one day. Is this sort of what other guys are experiencing when the granny starts to act weird?

I'm curious. While I'm not having any of those issues (yet), I'm thinking about the PCM update for the 3.6. The only issue I have is real shitty gas mileage. Have you had that done? Maybe it addresses this kind of thing. I propose you have it done and if it works out for you, then I'll get it too. On the other hand, if it causes your wheel to fall off (lol) I'll pass on it.

Nope I do not have it done. My Jeep has not been to a dealer since I bought it and is as is from the factory. It's a Dec 2015 build. Because of this though it does make me wonder if I should now have the update done and see what happens, however my fuel economy is actually very good. No issues there whatsoever. I get around 21mpg without ever stepping foot on a highway.

My original plan was to have a few things done at my first oil change. I want to have the heated seat update done as mine feel weak and guys have verified the update works. My auto high beams have never worked from day one and I think the sensor needs to be calibrated. So now when it is time for that first oil change I think I will probably have them update anything that needs updating, including the transmission software.

The ONLY complaint I have thus far (9000 miles, build date 10/15) is I can't get mileage above 16 except on expressway. And I drive very conservatively.
