Yeah unfortunately it's down to the plastic. Hex bolt on the mower handle sealed that fate. Im just glad it wasn't on the body panel.

If it was my old '14 Limited that scratch would have been on the black plastic molding and I could have wiped it down and you never would have noticed but since it's a HA with the flat body color panels that is definitely not an option. The fancier the car the more expensive the repair I guess!! lol

Ventilated Seats: Whereas my Infiniti had climate controlled seats, blowing cool conditioned air, the HA merely has ventilated seats but I think the air is actually cooled! Possibly there is an air conditioner duct somewhere down there. Any ideas?

Re: 2015-2016 High Altitude Owners Thread

Well I can only imagine the air being used to ventilate is from the cabin. So whatever the temperature is inside will be the air it's using towards the seat.

Nope. The air blowing through the seats is cooler than that.

I don't see any tubing going to the seat apart from the electrical underneath.

Anyone else?

the vented seats just pulls air through the holes in the leather away from you giving a cooling effect, it doesn't blow air out at you. its not integrated with the AC system at all. all it is a fan under the seat that draws air through the holes not really much to it. there are other usually higher end cars that actually cool the seats that's not these, think of it as a poor mans cooled seat lol

Re: 2015-2016 High Altitude Owners Thread

That is all correct, however for whatever reasons the ventilated seat is much more effective when the interior air condition is on. Try it, try driving while it's hot out with AC off and windows down. The ventilated seats do little to nothing. Then turn the AC on and you will begin to feel the seat cool.

Air conditioning dehumidifies the air so the vented seats dragging the dryer dehumidified air across your moist skin evaporates water off of it creating a cooling effect. Or that would be my estimate on it

I don't care how they cool the seats. My ass tells me I'm cooler. I've never had any vehicle with this feature.

Re: 2015-2016 High Altitude Owners Thread

Yeah! Thanks to all of you for helping me to understand this feature on this car. Further research shows that yes, it draws air down around my butt and through the seats as opposed to forcing cooled air up through the seat. That's how Infiniti does it. I will say that it actually does work. With the brutal temps lately, the seat is helping keep my butt dryer.

I also engage the window locks so they all get the full effect.
