Re: 2015-2016 High Altitude Owners Thread

Same here, from the time I emailed my service manager, it took him like 2 or 3 days at the most to get back to me to confirm I was correct and that he was ordering the replacement armrest. It is of WAY higher quality and looks much better.

I wonder if that was also an issue in 2014 and beyond overlands.

I also had no trouble getting the replacement. Brought it in, showed advisor the build sheet and window sticker, he took photos to send somewhere. It was delivered to the dealer s week later. When I came in to have it done, the adviser picked it up from parts and let me change it out in the parking lot to save having to leave it to the service department.

It wasn't on my 2014 Overland.

This is true for white piping leather seats, the armrest has white stitching to match

It's also true for the all black leather (no white piping) leather seats.

Re: 2015-2016 High Altitude Owners Thread

So just because the armrest has the white stitching does that mean it is vinyl?

Based on the number of posts on the subject, that seems to be the case of the ones that were showing up in HA's with the all-black stitched interiors. And that led to the discovery of them being vinyl.

The 16 HA my dealer swapped to get my HA had the white stitching on the armrest and that was the first thing my eye was drawn to when I looked in the window. It looked garishly out of place. My 16 HA has the black stitching on the armrest.

The 14 Overland Morrocan black interior I had used white accent stitching throughout. The armrest material perfectly matched the leather seats so I had no reason to ever wonder if it was leather or vinyl. On the 15-16's in question, I believe people were also noticing a different texture to the armrest material?

You should be able too. I believe there's a label under there somewhere and it even says whether it's vinyl or leather. Someone posted pics of that label somewhere in the old center console armrest thread on that subject. It's not the label that's immediately visible when you pop the armrest hinge cover off... it's a label somewhere further inside the armrest.
