Ok cool gotcha. I'll look. If I find I've been had like some of the others I'll follow up with my dealer and watch their eyes roll as I explain this to them.

More like a slack jawed, thousand yard stare.

Re: 2015-2016 High Altitude Owners Thread

I'm not aware of any issues on '14 models, on the 15 HA, the build sheets and window sticker clearly state LEATHER INSTRUMENT CONSOLE AND CENTER ARM REST WITH BLACK STITCHING. Many, including mine , were delivered with vinyl armrests and contrasting stitching. Upon removal of the arm rest from the console, a label on the bottom of the hinge even stated VINYL. It appears that most dealers were cooperative in replacing them with the correct ones. It might not be very obvious that one is vinyl until comparing to leather. Different feel and appearance is then clear.

I'll take the top off of mine tomorrow,if it's leather it should say that or maybe not. If it's vinyl it seems it will clearly state that.

This is exactly right. The quality difference between the black stitched summit armrest and the white stitched vinyl armrest is notable. The armrest that came with mine looked out of place with such an otherwise nicely finished interior.

I agree. That piece of crap vinyl armrest with the white stitching was actually an eyesore . The leather armrest with black stitching is markedly superior.

These guys are right...night and day difference in look, feel, and quality!! It's actually crazy how just one item like this can literally give the interior a different feel. Nothing is worse than the feel of that gross plasticy feeling vinyl console.

Re: 2015-2016 High Altitude Owners Thread

The overland with black interior comes with the white stitching on the dash and armrest. Are you guys saying that the 14 and beyond over lands can have that cheap vinyl armrest also??

No. Anything is possible but no one with an Overland with black interior and white stitching has reported they got vinyl. This has only happened for some with an Overland WITH the High Altitude package.

Re: 2015-2016 High Altitude Owners Thread

I did a search on cars.com for used 2015 jeep grand cherokee overland with keyword "altitude". I looked at about 5 cars currently for sale and they all had the white stitched center arm rest. I have yet to find a 2015 that has a all black center arm rest.

Does any one own a 2015 high altitude that came with the correct arm rest?

The 2016 high altitudes for sale on cars.com look to be correct.

I have a 2015 HA that came with armrest with white stitching that is leather. Also says so on the underside tag of it. I had asked in an earlier post if anyone else had this and I think someone else said they too had a similar armrest.
