Re: 2015-2016 High Altitude Owners Thread

So, I just ordered the RAL Black Running boards for my '15 HA. They should arrive Wednesday via Amazon Prime. They were about $100 less on Amazon than from any other dealer I found. I'm hoping I have no trouble putting them on, but I will find a local shop to save me if I get into trouble with them. Maybe with these on my wife will stop moaning about how tough it is to climb into my Jeep. Even with lowering about 1" all around, she has trouble. Wish me luck!!

Re: 2015-2016 High Altitude Owners Thread

I have just spent the last week reading through all 153 pages of this thread. This model of the GC is beautiful and I am 100% sure when i am ready to upgrade it will be a HA.

'thing is...there currently isn't a a known plan to offer the HA beyond MY16, so if you truly want one...you'll want to buy it "real soon now"...

Believe me I wish I could buy one new now, but that's not financially possible. I actually just bought my 2012 used in February this year. That said I can't wait for a few years to go by and a '15 or '16 HA will be right where I need it to be.

Let me know when you're ready to buy one, I'll probably be ready to sell.

Re: 2015-2016 High Altitude Owners Thread

I had received the recall for the shift interlock maybe last month?, but ignored it for a bit as she was running well. At ~4k miles, I started to get a very rough up/down shift on 1 and 3. Brought it in and had it fixed along with a free oil change from the time of purchase. Went smooth (and no oil ended up inside my car) and shifting is smooth as can be now. Glad they had the part on site, or they said it would have been a few more days of waiting.

I was creeping around the lot while I waited for uber to come after I dropped it off. Surprised that my dealer did not have any SRTs on the lot - only a used 14' ($46k) that looked really really rough around the edges, poor thing Asked the dealer and he said they were awaiting the new 17's to roll out. I'll have to go back in a few weeks and window shop ^_^

I have the same shifting issue. What was replaced?

Re: 2015-2016 High Altitude Owners Thread

Can someone point me to a DIY to remove the front bumper from the High Altitude or Summit? I watched a couple videos on removing the Limited's bumper, but the HA fender flares appear to be attached differently, and I don't want to damage them.

If you guys are talking about the S28 recall on early build 16's, that was to replace the entire shifter assembly due to bad wire crimping. It had nothing to do with fixing rough up or downshifts.

If you feel your trans is shifting better now because of that it's probably due to the battery being disconnected and clearing all DTC's with their wiTECH scan tool as part of the repair procedure.

^^ That. I had disconnected the battery to 'reset' things, but it did not help. prior to them taking it in for the day.

Happy Birthday to me. Used a birthday wish to get black lug nuts for the HA. Went with the gorillas since they were cheaper than the mcguards.
