I'm curious if anyone has messed around with putting a light bar on their HA? Thoughts?

For a rubicon that sounds good.

Re: 2015-2016 High Altitude Owners Thread

I need your help.Does anyone have a list of the Step/Running Boards that will fit my 2015 GC High Altitude. It seems the one's I do like, the Rhino OE Xtreme won't work so what are my options?

Al_Menard recently posted pics and described the Romik RAL B running boards on his HA. I am in the process of installing them on mine. I bought them on Amazon. The only trouble I'm having is getting them perfectly level but I love the look and how well they work.

As posted in my Pics are the Romik RAL running Boards. I also looked at the broadfeet, but was more impressed by he construction of Romik RAL. You can shop and buy anywhere but Autoanything as a wide range of steps listed with a good fitment filter. http://m.autoanything.com/nerf-bars/10A50172.aspx
I really like mine.

How are you making out. By level do you mean actually using a level and getting that bubble perfect or to the eye?

Not with level but I can't seem to get the rear as tight to side trim as front. It insists on being a bit lower. Pics will follow later.

I just purchased a 2016 Overland High Altitude. As you may know this has the Summit lower facia and lacks the regular overland tow hooks and or lower facia pop outs.

What it does have is a passenger side (right side) pop out access door that lines up with the tow hook mounting points. It was placed there to have the Euro type tow eye mount accessible. Those parts are not however included on the delivered car but can be ordered.

I have been working with a fabricator that sells a set of tow ring recovery points for the Grand Cherokee WK2. I have spoken to him about the unique situation with the Summit and High Altitude lower facia. He sent me one of his current rings and we have been reverse engineering a solution for the summit and High Altitude.

After working on dimensions. He is prepared to laser cut a steel front recovery point that will mount and fit partially out of the front access door. It will be designed to protrude forward a small bit as not to damage the lower front facia should it need to be used.

This is a link to his product page on Amazon, Others on the forum have used his parts which are similar to Chief Products of Australia.

Amazon sales page for the standard existing tow points; https://www.amazon.com/Grand-Cheroke...179410&sr=1-14

Included in this post are basic sketches of the design as a work in progress.

The design is for a straighter tow ring with a ring diameter and taper that places it just in front of the lower facia. The ring is steel and would be had in steel to be painted individually, or a Stainless Steel version would be available as is with his other tow rings.

Goal of final would be for a ring front recovery point that is strong enough and not require cutting of the plastic. It will be either steel unfinished able to be painted or Stainless polished.

If you have interest, please reply and I will pass the interest level on to him. It will certainly make the work he is putting into the fabrication worth while if others buy from him.

Pictures in order

#1 Original Tow ring that does not fit access door

#2 Dimensions of depth from access door opening to rear mount point

#3 Dimensions opening diameter of access door

#4 Drawing of proposed tow ring front recovery point to be fabricated.

Here is a pic of the first prototype tow ring recovery point for all Summits and High Altitudes with the access door on the lower fascia front Right.

Re: 2015-2016 High Altitude Owners Thread

Got my 2016 HA Hemi 3 weeks ago. Already have a Corsa exhaust system installed, and looking into true cold air systems now. I went to look at a red one, but couldn't let the white one go. Best GC I've ever owned.

Pics coming later, as I can't upload from my iPhone to this thread...

Congrats on your new GC. Please share your Corsa exhaust pics and if you can a sound clip. I need this exhaust for my HEMI...

Did you keep original bolt on tips or the Corsa ones?

I went with a MOPAR CAI, install was simple and it looks great.
