Re: 2015-2016 High Altitude Owners Thread

The jury is still out on if I'm happy with the Romik RAL-B running boards on my white HA. One thing is for sure, though. It is much easier getting in and out...even my wife admits that. The other interesting thing is they give the appearance that the car is lowered even more that just the 1" with the lowering links. That I genuinely like. I even got major compliments from others regarding the looks. I just don't know if I am thrilled with the look. Regardless, I'll probably keep them on for a time so my wife doesn't wine about her difficulty climbing in.

So is it just the appearance of the Romik you're not totally pleased with? Or is there some structural quality issue as well? I'm considering these for my HA so wanted to be clear on that front. Btw...what color is your HA with the black Romiks? Mine is black and wanted to know how they looked.

Structurally, they are great. It's the looks that I'm not quite sure of. I have a Bright White 2015 HA. A few pages back you can find a posting by Al_Menard with a link to photos of his. Same setup... White HA with black RAL.

What tint brand/percentage did you have put on the front two windows? I had my front two tinted with 3M Color Stable 20%. They look fine at night, but during a sunny day, they do not look anywhere near black and definitely do not match the back windows. It drives me crazy. I'm trying to find the best color match. Thanks.

Very happy with the Whispbar Flush Bar S25.

Also extremely quiet even at freeway speeds, best purchase over my previous Thule...

Re: 2015-2016 High Altitude Owners Thread

I went to a tinting chain place called 'Tint World' where they measured the rear tint and then matched it as close as possible. Other then I believe it was a 3M brand car tint I don't know the exact type, sorry

Re: 2015-2016 High Altitude Owners Thread

The shop that did my tints used 3M material and said rear windows are about 22% from factory so 20% on the front windows was the closest match they could do. I think they did a great job.

Re: 2015-2016 High Altitude Owners Thread

I've been having some issues with my HK stereo sounding dull...like the buffering of the HD radio doesn't quite get to the optimum level. But the dull sound (like low treble but treble is at max) is same for radio, or Bluetooth music. Only happens sometimes...begins at startup and lasts until I shut jeep off and restart again. Then resolves and goes back to awesome HK stereo. Anyone else having issues with stereo sound?

I don't have that issue as my HK sounds awesome all the time, however about once or twice a month I get a loud pop through one of the rear speakers after opening a door. I have searched and some others have also reported the problem. Out of luck it happened to the dealer when I had it in for something else and it can be startling when you're not expecting it. Anyway, the point of this is that they say it's a defective amplifier and it's been on order for literally months now. Word is the HK amp is on back order and it's gonna be a while. If you need a new amp you might have to wait. I would be interested to hear if that's the case for you as well.
