The High Altitude came out as like a 2015.5 based on the Overland. The Altitude has been out, based on the Laredo. The High Altitude carries on for 2016 but the Altitude does not.

The Laredo-based Altitude did not continue for MY16. The Overland-based High Altitude was introduced mid-way in the MY15 timeframe and does continue for MY16. While they share the word "Altitude" in their names and have unique visual appeal to a certain segment of buyers, these special editions are completely different setups.

Has anyone ever Line-x their High Altitude wheel wells? I have seen it done on trucks and thought it might be a worthwhile protection option.

We have the felt lining inside, not sure how that would work unless you removed. I can attest though on my Chevy, I bedlinered the front and rear wheel wells and it holds up great!

Yeah that wouldn't do anything as like already mentioned these Jeeps have a felt kind of material lining the wheel wells. I'm not sure what coating wheel wells would do anyway as those are there to protect the rest of the car and are designed to handle the elements. Coating them with line-x or whatever would do nothing and look terrible. The felt material is nice because I believe it has sound deadooning properties and also rinses off very nicely during car washes and looks great.

Okay that's good to know. I haven't picked up my HA from the dealer yet so haven't seen the exact make-up of the wheel wells or paid much attention to it at the dealer. Im coming from a Patriot which has hard plastic wheel wells which were a a pain to clean.

You'll appreciate these very much then in the Grand Cherokee. I know a lot of people would think why the heck would you clean or even care what a wheel well looks like. When I detail my cars I clean all that stuff and cars with plastic liners overtime they start to look terrible. When I wash my Jeep I spray down the wheel well felt with my hose in a higher pressure setting and everything comes right off and they look perfect!!

Nice. How does the HA perform in the snow with the all-season tires?

I had no issues getting up my inclined driveway and over the mound the plow left. Probably 4 inches of snow had fallen by 8am that Saturday and it felt sure footed. I didn't drive like a but even going 30-35 on the main roads (which were poorly plowed or not plowed at all at the time, since it was the middle of the storm) felt fine.

This past weekend I took my HA up in the mountains by Breckenridge to snowboard when a huge blizzard rolled through. While driving back to Denver, they ended up closing the tunnel due to the blizzard. So myself and 1000's of other vehicles were stranded on the highway in the mountains during the blizzard. Sat there gridlocked for over 2 hours, close to 8-9inches of snow had fallen.

They finally reopened the tunnel and it was madness. Semis, pick up trucks, various awd cars, etc. were either stuck or sliding across the highway towards the guard rail due to the incline of the highway.

Im glad to say that my HA performed great. In order to pass by a couple of stuck vehicles I had to mash thru over a foot of snow on the shoulder. The HA handled it with ease.

Theres my rant about my Saturday from hell.
