Lol I know it's not a High Altitude. That's the SRT "Night Edition" in the new Velvet color.

In sunny conditions the chrome looks the darkest or most black. On cloudy days it looks like a lighter shade of dark chrome, on gloomy or rainy days is when it starts to get the slight bronze tinge to it. I also found that on darker colors like granite or black it gets more of the bronze shade to it because the lack on contrast. On white it almost never appears bronze. I suppose I could be wrong, but I really do not think they changed anything for the 2016 HA. I saw one in person today and noticed no differences whatsoever. IMO thats a good thing though, the dark chrome looks awesome!!
thought I was the only one..trivalent on white is nice..i just wish they did the same to the window trim...but then again in some it also looks blackish too....I love this thing.got the lowering links,1.25 bora spacers and rear fog lights on order, already tinted it all around 15%...

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

Muser99,

Here is a picture I took of my 2015 HA just to show to you that it's all about the lighting. So you can't possibly sit there and say that one HA chrome is totally different than another because it's not...it's the lighting. The Trivalant chrome looks so dark here that it could pass as gloss black. Some don't agree, but I friggin love the Trivalant chrome. Looks so good!

Nice swirl marks in the paint on that Red SRT...you can see they are really bad in the spots where the light is hitting it...

They seem to have a non black color they're using on this chrome now. Just keep it simple jeep.

that being said, if you talk to a dealer and find out, that would obviously be the best possible way to go. please let us know.

I checked with my dealer today. 12 pieces. Retail cost came to just under $1400.00 for parts. The rear-side glass and trim appear to be one piece @ about $391 per side. Oh well back to looking for a reputable vinyl shop.

holy shnikes. wow. well, thanks for reporting back - very helpful! i did plasti-dip on mine and love it, but it isn't the "gloss" of the pillars. would have to do vinyl for sure if you want that.

Yeah that SRT has been pretty neglected going across the country to every autoshow and wide open for people to touch and sit in. Let's just say the interior was looking pretty sad at this point. Don't forget though that lighting shows everything. Put that car outside with all the other cars and it would look amazing!

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

TIRES!! Many of you are talking about replacing your Goodyear Fortera tires even before they are used. I plan on a better tire, probably Bridgestone HL Alenza Plus, when it's time, but I am wondering why so many want to replace them before they are even worn out. Can someone explain why? The ride doesn't seem so bad to me.

The DC auto show had a white Night Edition SRT and it looked wayyyyyy better than the red.
