I'm not a huge fan of the looks either, however I really don't like the looks of rock dings in my doors, so it's a trade off I had to make...

I hope to keep this 7 years at least, and I am a nut when it comes to detailing my vehicles...

Good point. I am stuck on whether or not I am going to get them. At first I had no intentions, but then I am considering getting the 1.25" spacers and now I am having second thoughts. Plan to look at more photos of them before I make a decision

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

yeah the looks of those things is a no go for me. The good thing is for those that are worried about small rock chips on the doors, just buy a roll of clear bra film and apply it yourself to the lower door sections. Its easy to do on flat sections so you don't have to pay a professional to install it. I did that on my wife's 2014 Toyota Highlander and it was excellent. No worries about any chips whatsoever, and best of all you cant even tell its there.

here is a picture of the film I installed on her lower door panels. Came out flawlessly. You can just barely make out the film edges. I will be doing this to my new HA at some point.

Don't do it. Nothing says wanna be like caliper covers.
Just paint your OEM calipers with the G2 or Duplicolor kit if you don't want to spend the money on a real BBK (Big Brake Kit).

It defeats the purpose of using the short BBK when you have to say big brake kit lol.

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

Just to be safe I took the wheels off because I know a guy with a shop and a lift. I have heard of people installing those without taking the tires off. The install was quick at each wheel and they are secure. No clearance issues or rattles. The inset is a silverish grey color and a subtle mod other then the red which everyone I know told me I should get. 😎

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

The trivalent chrome is starting to look better to me, I think I'll leave my Black HA all stock for now, except definitely getting the OEM SRT LED fogs. Good news, my windshield is now crystal clear, I figured out that the microfiber I had used was leaving fine fibers on the inside of the glass that were lighting up as 1000s of tiny white dots and dashes whenever the sun was directly aligned with the windshield. Mopar glass cleaner that the dealer gave me and paper towels cleaned it very well.

Ok here is how it works...try not to overthink it. Your Jeep will not function ANY different than it currently does. ALL height settings will work exactly the same as they do now, except that it will be about an inch lower in all of them. After you install these links do not do or change anything from how it is now.
Your Jeep will still drop to park mode when you put it in park (if thats selected), it will still drop to "aero" height when you get into the 55mph range, or when sport mode is selected. If you want the Jeep higher offroad 1 and 2 still work just like before.
So again, park mode will be an inch lower all around, aero mode will be an inch lower all around, normal ride height will be an inch lower, and same with offroad 1 and 2.

So to give you an idea of what your new normal ride height will be, its pretty much your current "aero" mode. Hope all this makes sense, but its really simpler than you think. Same as before, but about an inch lower in all settings.
ah, perfect - simple. thank you for this, i get it.
