Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

Painting caliper vs covers just depends on the look one is truly comfortable with for their personal jeep, Nothing wrong with either one. The plus side to buying covers is its easy to change the look if you want instead of scraping a color off a caliper. Removing the covers can be done by hand without popping the wheels off.... Just depends on your hand size.

James is JTS97Z28. I'm sure you've seen his posts. He has made links for a few of us that are very much like ones selling for about $300. I don't know if he will continue to do this for practically no money but others are thrilled with what he's done.

i PM'd james yesterday, think i'm going to do this as soon as he gets back to me. any special tools needed for link install? what's the install process - do the wheels need to come off?

spacers should be here tomorrow.

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

Yesterday I checked the weather and it said no rain for days so I got her all nice and clean and than today I wake up to nothing but thunderstorms and all day rain. It seems to be a given that if I wash my car its going to rain.

Well at least you don't have to worry about that 'white' stuff falling. It stays around for days as it melts and keeps the roads wet.

Caliper covers can also be removed in the winter time. Painted calipers just don't stay nice in the northern states. The calipers will get all nasty in the winter and then when spring comes around you throw the covers on and you have nice clean calipers again.

You got me there. I grew up in the northeast and I don't miss that weather at all.

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

You guys can come up with every reason in the world to justify caliper covers but in the end your trying to give the impression that you have a BBK kit on your Jeep like the SRT, it's the same with guys who paint their front black or buy SRT body parts, etc, some own it and others beat around the bush but it is what it is. I'm surprised there are as many people on here who are supportive of it, the Audi board I'm on would literally crucify you for even mentioning something like that

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

No us guys aren't trying to simulate anything other then using a viable option to keep or lessen the amount of brake dust on our rims and enjoy a mod them WE think looks good on OUR jeeps. If you don't want them..don't buy them but find another can to kick down the road.

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

It's not like we're trying to stick your favored audi 4 entertwined circles on our jeeps to pass them off as one of your SUVs. Im sure your little board would have a stroke. 😂
