I'm surprised there are as many people on here who are supportive of it, the Audi board I'm on would literally crucify you for even mentioning something like that
I did my front black because I like the way it looks not because I'm trying to pretend to have an SRT. So I take offense to that part of your comment.

Ditto re: Caliper covers. If "easternli" in his supreme wisdom and taste disapproves of ANYTHING other owners do to their cars, I think he would be wiser to start his own forum for the elite class he thinks he belongs to. In the meantime, I guess he's just another AH. Fortunately, the vast majority of the post from forum users are interesting, helpful, and appreciated.

Have you ever actually had painted calipers? I guessing no because I have and live just outside of Chicago. My self-painted calipers looked the same as the day I painted them three years later. So unless you know something for a fact you shouldn't speak to it.

So NOW you say you're using cover to lesson brake dust?
You must be stupid to think anyone would believe that bullshit.
First of all my stock brake pads emitted little to no dust and second if you're running MPG caliper covers they're more expensive then most brake pad replacements.

How am I being elitist ? Caliper covers and other fake modifications are on par with rebadging your jeep as an SRT, would you have a problem with that or do you feel that's just people personalizing their vehicle as they see fit. And other then this post my comments have been supportive and complimentary of pretty much everything people have done, sorry if being called out butt hurt some of you.

I absolutely do not think that badges, caliper covers, or any other visual mods indicate owners passing themselves off as anything other than liking that look on their own cars. In 1966, I drove a Belvedere I with 426 HEMI badges but under the hood was a stock 318. Even the Thrush mufflers didn't help. THAT was a teenager posing as a bad-ass, until, of course, I was challenged to a drag race. Today, though, if I like the looks of painted calipers, covered calipers, a tennis ball on my antenna, or SRT style wheels.... It merely means I like the look. So, I say, "don't be such a putz"

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

OK. It's settled. I'm getting flat black caliper paint because I want my white HA to look like a white HA with black painted calipers. I'll probably wait till I receive the spacers and lowering links before I paint them so I don't have to pull the wheels off a second time. Incidentally, I want the lowering links for the looks and so that my wife might stop complaining about how difficult it is getting into the car with a tight skirt on. Also so it will look like a white HA that has been lowered. Now....lets all play nicely!!

Leveled Up!

All skids and rock rails installed.

Total 1269 OTD. I'm buying myself some hibiki to celebrate the deal of a century. Dealer took 16 hours. Absolute legends though. Did it perfectly!

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

Just to calm the tension I do plan on picking up a set of Goliath reps this spring and having them powdercoated gloss black, so even I will have an SRT'esque part on my jeep but I still think anything you put on that gives only the illusion of something higher performance is kinda poseurish, yes I know I'm an AH so you can save the reply
