Anyway, got the limited and began blacking it out to look like an Overland/Altitude. Which became a fun but rather pricy project.

I had a few other mods I was eying up that we're getting up there in price (door handles/ color painted trim). Fast forward and I started to look at the HA a bit more - wasn't sold on it at its big reveal initially.

The lady was out of town yesterday so I popped into the dealer to see one up close and get a ball park in trade in value. Told the guy I was just "looking" but wanted a white V6 with tow package and 4x4 (which is not very common at all in Texas - the sales guy called 4x4s unicorns). Low and behold the only HA on the lot is that exact car I described. They had sold the other inventory a few days prior and had gotten this one in a day ago. Had also called 4-5 dealers and their are not many HAs in the Dallas area. 1 dealer even told me he didn't know what a HA was...

We went back and forth a bit and they gave me a very fair trade in value - actually slightly higher than my own rough guess and KBB/carmax appraisals. Left after they wouldn't come down off the MSRP a bit and told them to call when they wanted to shave some off. 4 hours later they called and I drove over to drop off the down payment. It was near closing time and I had prior plans for the evening, so I'm going to finish the paperwork Monday and take her home! Made sure they stuck the "sold" sign inside it before I left haha.

Car payments went up a bit, but for extra features it has, and the fact I don't need to spend anymore $$$ modding it to look like a different model, it was worth it to me. I may add some minor things like window trim wrap down the road but no major plans. Pretty pumped.

Just have 36 hours to decide if I want to have them swap those 20x9 srt reps I have (which are currently on the trade in car). The stock is 20x8 so these give it slightly wider stance (around what the borla spacers would look like).

Anyone good with photoshop?! >_<

Just put the reps on. You clearly like them on your current jeep and they are sweet wheels so just do it and get that HA home. I would still put the bora spacers on and than the lowering links and I'm sure you'll be happy.

I've been reading up on those lowering links, because those look pretty nice. Looks like right now the DIY home made links aren't plug and play on the '16's as they were on the 15's...

DIY homemade air suspension links. Install with pics!

Can you explain in a little more detail what the changes are?

I'm not sure. In that link I posted, it seemed the first user to buy the links from user JTS with a '16 was having difficulty with the the front links... Maybe the sensors?

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

First of all congrats @CrimsonKing on your HA. We had the same issue, loved the Altitude but couldn't understand the lack of options for a 40k vehicle. We walked discussed and planned on either living with the lack of or building out a limited/overland and blacking it out. Fast forward to buying the HA, built the way they all should come equipped.

As for the links on the 15 vs 16. Through 15 the Quadralift used a angled front link. In 16 they redesigned the link to be straight, like the ones we've been using to lower. The issue has been extending the DIL link to lower the Jeep it won't. The individual who had the 16 in the thread tried trouble shooting with James but since James is a 15 he was at a loss. I chimed in with my thoughts as well but nothing ever came of his results. My thoughts it could be something with the sensors being calibrated differently or maybe the links need shortened vs lengthened on the 16. Wish I had a 16 locally to play with.

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

I know its been mentioned, but has anyone figured out why the front links on the '15 have that arc in them? It doesn't change the length, there is plenty of space under there for them without the bend. I don't get it. From the posted pics, the '16 front links are straight.

No idea, it's just how it is. That's not '15 specific as I think those type of links started in 2011. My links worked on a 2012 Summit as well as both '14 and '15. As far as the 2016 yeah they are revised. The links themselves are like a black plastic and are straight. When that member installed my links the suspension almost seemed to raise vs lowering like it does on earlier models. I think what was said above is accurate. It's almost like the sensors are calibrated different and the links need to be made opposite than what they are for earlier models. They do bolt onto a 2016 perfectly fine though, just need to be set differently which is what we aren't completely sure of yet.

Yeah I forgot about that. I know there was a change in the links from 15 to 16 but I don't have much experience or knowledge on what the differences are. I am sure James or someone else on here can explain that better. Here is a picture of my HA before the links and after the links. My spacers were already installed on all of these pictures but you can see the difference in height in the before and after pictures. All pics are in entry/exit mode. The install took about ten minutes total to do.

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

Strange obversation:
All of my recent cars with TPMS, tire pressure monitoring systems, have had metal tire valves with retaining nuts. My Grand Cherokee and maybe all Jeeps and maybe all Chryslers have rubber valves. Any ideas why? Maybe better durability when hitting the trails?

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

^^ dunno, but I noticed that as well. I kinda of wish it had the sturdy metal ones I kind of like those better. They aren't as long and are also study which IMO makes for easier filling and pressure checks. Minor stuff though so don't really care too much about it.

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

Well, she's officially mine! 2016 Bright White 4x4 V6 with tow package! Super excited that it all worked out. I ended up not keeping my SRT8 reps and let them go with the trade in. We lined the cars up next to one another, and I just wasn't 100% on swapping the reps onto the new car, so kept the stock which I actually really like. I'm sure someone will pop on the SRT reps at some point and they will look awesome though and I'll have some regret haha.

-1.25 Bora Spacers en route
-Debating painting calipers again
-Will wrap the chrome trim again at some point

Below is a new pic snapped and a kind of dark pic on my '15 Limited and new '16 HA back to back
