One thing that has me a bit confused in the HA is the center console arm rest and differences between them. The console in my '15 HA feels like crappy vinyl where as my Summit felt like a very high end leather. It's a big deal to me since I see and feel the arm rest everytime I drive the car. I also never liked the mismatched silver stitching when the rest of the interior has black stitching.

So I was at my dealer today getting a complimentary car wash and looked at a few Jeeps. I was pleasantly surprised to see for the 2016 HA they added the much nicer Summit console lid with matching black stitching. Then in the showroom I sat in an HA thinking it was a 2016 as it had the new console, but it was a 2015?!? So was the Summit console some sort of a late 2015 running change or what? I thought my HA having a 12/15 build date was a very late built one. So what gives here? When did they switch to the nicer console? Wish mine had it.
What arm rest console does your HA have?
It's not cheap, but I really want to buy the Summit lid. Online shows $274.
Do you have any pictures. Mine doesn't have the silver stitching but I don't really know what your talking about because I didn't have a summit before. Mine was built at the same time as yours so that is strange. On another note I saw some 20" by 10" srt reps on eBay for $699. So tempted but how much are the tires going to cost? I think you mentioned that you don't like reps but thought you might know. Does anyplace do tire and wheel packages.

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

So mine is as pictured. Build date 10/2015. The leather and stitching is an exact match to the seats. The door panel leather seems to match also. I suppose that seems proper. I'll have some other opinions, maybe, after visiting the dealership and examining the Overland, HA, Summit, etc. Boy....Just when I was settling into my HA, you had to throw a monkey wrench into the works. And, it seems, every HA owner has his own idea of what is preferred. And...to quote you...JTS..."LOL"

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

Looks to me like yours has the silver stitching where as everything else is black stitching. So you have the same console as mine.

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

2016 HA and all the stitching is black throughout the interior. I like the white contrast stitching in my Limited, but it got dirty very quickly. 15k miles when I traded it in and esp over the center console, it was already turning funky.

With that said, I am a fan of the red stitching on one of the Cherokee model (trailhawk maybe?) and in the new GC trailhawk. Wish that was/will be an option down the road.

Mine has the gray stitching in the console. Looks fine to me.

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

JTS might be on to something....OK....It seems that my HA has black seat stitching, black dash stitching, grayish console stitching. So the only item that seems not to match is the console. I'm not sure how I feel about that. The window sticker lists "Black Accent Stitching" for HA Package 23S

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

My 2015 HA (build date 12/2015) has black stiching everywhere (i.e. dash, doors etc.) except for the arm rest on the centre console which has white/silver stitching for whatever reason. The vehicle also came with the built in CD player in the centre console so it does not have a second compartment that you can lift up, so I am not sure if that affects anything.

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

If my 16 HA had come with the white stitching on the console I would've been talking to the dealer about replacing it before I took delivery. It really looked out of place to me when I looked at the white 16 HA my dealer swapped to get my granite HA.

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

Well... I looked at sooo many '15 and '16 Grand Cherokees today, but no High Altitudes. Black stitching, white stitching, red stitching, stitching, stitching!! My not really white but more of a gray console stitching didn't bother me until I read about it here. Now, I'm rethinking it for the 27th time and I am really ok with it the way it is. I agree with CrimsonKing about the white stitching on the Limited, but that is not an option. So, I am now going to decide to like it the way it is.
Hey James.....Have you determined that the lowering links are not whacking out the alignment? I know what I've seen here, but without having the alignment checked before and after, there is no way to positively determine if the links change anything. With only 7000 miles, I'm not showing any uneven tire wear and I hope not to get an alignment until I replace my tires, which shouldn't be for a while.

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

^^^ I have no reason to believe it would be out of whack. I mean think about it, how could it be? With the lowering links my new normal ride height is the old aero ride height, which according to guys on this forum is where the factory aligns it. So that technically means most of my driving is closer to aligned spec now than it was prior to lowering it. Not only that, but I re-measured my drop and its actually even slightly less than an inch. Hardly anything to worry about. It's all good, but I still gotta get my hands on the nicer center console. My arm doesnt like the feel of vinyl ;-)
