Yeah I took it off in the parking lot at the dealer and handed it to him. He gave me the new one and I was on my way. He did me a favor as I didn't have much time and he said typically they would need a tech to do the work so they can log the time. He was fine just giving it to me and he ensured I knew how to swap the parts which I obviously did. Great guy and it was a pleasure working with them. I was given the complete assembly which came with both trays and the hinge and mounting plate.

Sure. It's very simple and takes about 3 minutes to swap, only tool required is a phillips screw driver.
1. Open both trays on your console so that it's open to the lower compartment.
2. Remove the black plastic trim panel at the rear most part of the opening (where the arm rest arms go through. Simply reach your fingers through the gaps and pull up. It's only plastic tabs holding it in. This will now expose the screws to remove the arm rest console. If your curious the orange pull cable is your neutral release of you needed the vehicle to be put in neutral with no power.
3. Remove the three phillips screws (careful not to let any fall down into the console).
4. Wiggle the entire arm rest console out and you're done. Very very simple process.
5. Reverse process to reinstall.

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

Hey, guys

Anyone joining in with a Canadian build High Altitude version. I can't find the spec sheet for Canada on what exactly is included as standard for the Hight Altitude in Canada. For example, does the high performance 19 speaker come with it or do you have to order it separately?

I'm looking at a used 2015 model, but they don't have the build sheet so they can't tell what exactly is in there.

TIA.

JTS, Only 3 screws at the back hold the entire middle console in place? How is the front of it secured down and kept from moving left to right? Are the 3 screws fairly long? Sorry for all the questions; I might just let the dealer do it anyway.

If you can get the vin, you can download the build sheets from FCA customer assistance web site.

Hey oneframe, I have a 2015 High Altitude (HA) in Canada. They still call it a Overland on the window sheets, but clearly is a HA as there is no mention of the model even existing on the Canadian website. The harmon kardon system is not standard and would be an upgrade. The sound system is the only thing my HA didnt come with. You get the Alpine 9 speaker system which is still an upgrade versus lower end models (6 speaker system), but doesn't sound all that great. I wish my HA came with the Harmon Kardon system instead but not the biggest of deals. If it has the Harmon Kardon system you will see silver accent trim around the speakers in the vehicle. If they are completely black with no silver trim, it is the Alpine system.

Unfortunately for those having issues getting their dealership to do the swap, I have no documents at all. He opened the box and gave me the console. No receipts or anything. That's what I wanted anyway as I didn't want a tech doing it lol. Keep at it guys they should do it, and if they don't talk to a boss.

Thanks very much JTS for the pictures, gives me some fuel for the fire to go in and talk to the dealer. The only issue I will probably have as my HA came with the useless CD player in the center console, so I don't have the double compartment, so Im curious if there is a second leather one to accommodate the CD player setup.

Thank you for confirmation jeepguy3. This is exactly what I was looking for. Now to check if the vehicle they have has the option.

Wow interesting, so not only do the CD player equipped ones have a much smaller lower compartment, but they don't even have the extra tray?? I would have though that would be the same, but I guess not. So yeah if that's the case I suppose they will need to be sure they order the right one. M

JGC4ever,
Yes, only three SHORT screws holding it in place. That's all it needs I guess and surprisingly the arm rest is very solid.

Forecast for the weekend looks like rain, rain and more rain. Guess I'll get those calipers painted red some day

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

I didn't have much luck getting my centre console replaced at the dealer either. Dealer claimed the current one is leather even after showing them JTS's pictures and the build sheets. I'm going to try another dealer until I get what I want.

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

Question regarding Wheel Well Trim. As seen in photos, one section of the Summit Style trim is separating from the fender. My dealer offered to order a new piece, have it painted to match and then remove/replace. He said it is only held on with double sided tape. I would rather repair this myself and not take a chance of the dealer making it worse. Does anyone have any ideas how to do this without removing the existing piece?
