Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

Easiest way to tell is just look at it and touch it. The vinyl just looks like vinyl and feels like a cheap vinyl. The real leather one has a much different texture and more of a slippery higher quality feel. And as mentioned of course you could unscrew it and it'll say on the sticker under the hinge "vinyl or leather".
Either eay if you have a High Altitude with the silver stitching it's for sure the vinyl arm rest.

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

Per the attached photos one label is for the incorrect armrest with the vinyl and white stitching And one is of the leather armrest with the black stitching. The label is located on the bottom side of the arm rest hinge after removal from console.

I am going to another dealer tomorrow - bought a couple Dakota trucks from them - to see what they say.

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

Wow I'm surprised no one else got the correct console yet. My dealership was ontop of it and had it for me literally within days. It seems to me a no brainer as they can't really even deny it as it's written right on the window sticker what should be there.

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

The same day you brought yours in, my dealer said they are ordering mine and opened a repair order. They still haven't gotten it, though. I'm going to stop in and pester them tomorrow.

With all the console talk, what is the material on the armrest on the doors?? That stuff looks really cheap.

It's leather and of the right quality. It doesn't look cheap to me. What's cheap about the door is that everything else is craptastic plastic. That's what's out of place about the interior.

On older GC's the lower door panels were carpeted and that went a long way in preventing scuff marks from people hitting it with their shoes when getting in and out. These door panels on the WK2 scuff just by looking at them.

Yeah the door panel leather looks and feels good to me. Do have to be careful to not scuff the lower plastic though for sure.

Re: 2015 High Altitude Owners Thread

My local dealer had 3-4 HA on the lot now with pictures on their website. They all seem to have the all black center console. That with the sticker that clearly shows it's vinyl and the window sticker that says it should be leather, that should make a case for it to be replaced.

The interesting thing is, all the overland's look like mine, which should also have leather armrests but with the white stitching. I wonder if those are vinyl too and Jeep is just pulling a fast one.
