2015 Altitude mods

I picked up my '15 Altitude in billet silver a few months ago and looking to do a few easy mods. I am going to be a little selfish here as I know some of this information is out there already but there is so many threads and posts to go through! But that's good that we are all there to help each other. Anywho....

1st lug nuts. I see a lot of ppl using gorilla lugs. Looks like jeep does make OEM ones? Which seems odd but whatever.

2nd tints. I see ppl either do the 15% or 20% tints since the rear are 18%. I expect I will probably go with 15% so they don't look darker then the front. I would like to know if any one regrets going with 15%

3rd. Lighting. The footwell I literally just notice there is a light there it is so light even on the brightest setting. I was looking to replace that with a blue led to match the other accent lights. I'm looking to make it bright enough where its noticeable but not too bright at the same time. Or should I just got with an Aftermarket kit?

4th intake/exhaust. I was just going to go with the mopar intake just to keep OEM, no other reason then just cause. With those exhaust want have you guys have good success with and would recommend?

This are just a few starting mods to make the Altitude a little different. if you guys have other great/different or interesting ideas I'm open to them.

JEEP ON!!

I have a set of the black gorilla lugs on order, didn't know there was an OEM option but people seem happy with the gorilla ones

I had 18% put on my front windows and it's pretty much identical to the rear, just make sure not to get anything that is too reflective or it will look different

I picked up an LED kit for the interior lights and changed them all out to a cool white color, makes the footwell area a lot brighter, I'm sure you can find a blue that will look good and give you some better light

I got the Volant CAI for a steal so went with that, I think in the end all the intakes are pretty much the same in terms of adding a little performance, MPG, sound, etc, if you like the mopar one then go for it but if you can find a deal on a K&N, Volant, AFE, etc I would def consider them

Re: 2015 Altitude mods

The intake will only change the sound...no real power or fuel economy boost. Remember, the factory intake is already a pretty open design on the JGC. So they look great (when the hood is open) and add some aural excitement primarily.

I bought these lug nuts and they came with a 7/8/22mm socket:

Challenger Charger 300 New Black Gorilla Lug Nuts 14x1 5 Hex Acorn Socket | eBay

Intake: I bought a K & N. Sounds mean on mid to hard acceleration and I only have the V6.

15% tint is darker than 20%. That number means how much light is passing through the window so 15% will have less light than 20% and will look darker.

Re: 2015 Altitude mods

I had my tint guy match the other windows originally. He used 15%, but it was too dark and I could barely see anything at night in low light areas. Had him redo it at 20%. It is now perfect for us.

Re: 2015 Altitude mods

I have 15% Llumar tint and it's a near perfect match.

Re: 2015 Altitude mods

I have the Gibson exhaust on my '15 Altitude along with the K&N intake. Gives it a very aggressive sound for a V6 but not overbearing. I have 18% tint and it matches perfect. I also recommend considering the black grill inserts for the front grill as it makes a huge difference. For interior I also suggest the mopar pedals. Look great and have great grip...

Look great. I think my mind is made up. The black lugs add a nice touch, I haven't ordered mine yet but no better time then the present!

I appreciate everyone's input.

Happy New Year!

Re: 2015 Altitude mods

for the led interior lights I bought 4 4" bleds bars with 5 led chips on them,,almost matches the blue inside of the car cupholders etc,,I used sticky tape and put them under the rear seats and front footwells,,I bought some extra wire and spliced the rear lights onto the new wire n tucked it under the inside door jams,,slipced the front lights onto that wire also,,then connected it to a cigarette lighter plug that has a on off button on it,,,i just leave it on so anytime the car is running there on,,they were a lil to bright so I put electrical tape over two of the leds,,made it just right,,the only hard part was snaking the passanger side wire thru the center console lol,,,pia btw but it can b donenice n clean,,u see nothing, looks stock,,i also got a led conversion kit for the interior lights,,what a difference, other mods were led back up lights 13 watts per bulb,i tinted the tail lights with medium tint, looks amazing,v3 triton brake light bulbs,8 led rock lights under the doors stuck them on the frame, hids for the fogs and headlights,,9000 lumen led highbeams, eagle eye headlight conversion,,for the tint I used 40%carbon tint, very strick here in mass, its a diff look,,all depends on the ambient light,,k&n drop in filter,i also installed summit chrome mesh grille inserts

Re: 2015 Altitude mods

Just to add another data point, I have 20% Scorpion Shield on my Bright White GC and it's a perfect match to me.

I took it to my tint guy the other day and he put a bunch of scraps on the passenger window and let me inspect. We looked at Scorpion, 3M, and Llumar in 20 and 15% and this looked the closest to me, so it's what we went with.

From what I've read and heard, the Scoprion brand is rebooted Llumar, but I'm not sure of the apples to apple comparison between the two. This one looked better than the 20% Llumar to me, but it could've been location of the sample, etc that threw me off..
