2015 Altitude V6 Real-World MPG

We just got our 2015 Altitude a week ago and am curious to know what other forum members are getting for mpg.
On our commute back & forth to work (all back streets) we are currently averaging a tick over 15 mpg.

Thanks

Re: 2015 Altitude V6 Real-World MPG

Altitude doesn't mean you'll get more or less then any other 2014-Current V6.
Are you calculating this yourself or are you using the numbers displayed in the dash?

So far, (300 miles now) I am just using the dash display.
I may not have worded my initial post correctly and wasn't insinuating that the Altitude's V6 is different than any others, maybe it sounded like it in my topic title (?). This is my first experience with the 3.6L V6 engines.

Just curious as to what others are getting.

Thanks

2015 Altitude V6 Real-World MPG

Averaging 21.5 and mostly highway driving (70% or more). Now that it's colder, I have noticed a dip in mpg. Also, I find myself using the auto start which for sure will reduce mpg since its idling for a few minutes.

My evic always reads higher by about 5-7%. I reset after each fill up. Unless I'm about to take a road trip then I'll usually let it avg for the entire trip.

What's your tire pressure. What tires. Tires can make huge difference.

I never see the teens. EVER.

It will improve over time too.

There are several stock tires !!! Some with better MPH than others.

The Altitude may have a different tire as well.

Yikes 42psi and still getting that Kind of MPG.

I'd be close to 30MPG on highway if I ran mine that high.

Something sounds a miss.

See what you get on straight highway. With that pressure at 65MPH you should get at least 24 MPG (even not broken in).

Everyones "back streets" are different.

Highways are mostly the same for everyone except mountain highways.

Re: 2015 Altitude V6 Real-World MPG

These treads are a complete waste of time IMO.

You are never going to get a "Real-World" number that holds any relevance to you from anyone, but yourself.

I've gotten 14 on a tank and 26 on tank. It all depends on what your are doing

Calculating the mpg yourself tends to give you better numbers. I get 16 in the City and 24+ using cruise control on the road. 2006 GC 3.6

Re: 2015 Altitude V6 Real-World MPG

Be careful about running your "cold" tire pressure that high...I keep mine at 37-38 (recommended for the tires I'm running) and at highway speeds they get up to 41 psi heated during warm weather. If you're starting up that high, you will not be doing your tires any favors and potentially causing excessive wear in the center of the tire over time. Could also affect braking in an emergency.
