Re: 2015 Altitude vs Limited

I bought seperate rims for multiple reasons.
I wanted 18" rims for snows. 20" not good with pot holes.
Don't want to remount twice a year.
Saves wear on summer rims.
I don't waste the stock tires, they are fine for summer and will last twice as long.

Re: 2015 Altitude vs Limited

I am flip flopping. I think I'm now changing my mind to a limited with 18s. This rim and tire business is giving me a headache. Should have been something I thought of initially but hey I guess that's why I decided to make the post on here. Thanks y'all

Re: 2015 Altitude vs Limited

It sounds like your close to a decision. However, with the race being so tight it nearly comes down to which one you get the "best" deal on. If price point is key, the Altitude wins even if you pick up a set of 18" wheels with tires to use on it. If features are key, then you'll get more options available with the Limited.

Good luck with whichever you choose. You'll be in the Jeep club no matter what 😀

20's are fine all year round don't be ridiculous... There's so much sidewall on them if you are worried about winter driving with the 20's you must live on another planet with potholes from another dimension

Not trying to be ridiculous, trying to ask those who know more than me.

These are the tires so far as I can tell, you guys who already have '15s would know more. Maybe they'll be fine after all. Others seem to think so regarding snow. Pretty awful potholes and snow round here for the record though

Re: 2015 Altitude vs Limited

I ran the Fortera's through the last winter here in Michigan. I never had an issue. However, once I put the new rubber on, I could feel a fantastic difference in ride and control.

Re: 2015 Altitude vs Limited

The Forteras are not the best "winter" tire, but I had no issue with them with the light weather we get here in SE PA for the two winters they were still on my JGC. You can always swap them out if you want something better in that respect...there are plenty of threads on tire choices here in:
