I agree with you GCOverland. This will have to be the shortest thread. :D

Aren't I a goose wanting to wait for the MY15!

I think I've seen to many re-runs of Back to the Future II as in 2015 all cars had Hover Drive and Mr Fusion for power. I was really hoping that Jeep was going to at least introduce a Flux Capacitor.

Dang!

Thanks Milous.

Hopefully they'll offer a gray or light tan leather interior with dark carpets in the '15 Summit. My '14 Overland wth the beige leather has light beige carpets. Never again. Even the Limited with tan leather has dark carpets. Go figure.

I see FCA during the five year plan announcement said a refresh for late 2015, any information on that?

Sent from my iPhone using JeepGarage
I use think there is some bad information in these articles because I have read quotes from several articles that all came out today and they all have slightly different dates and specifics.

Milous,
Is your What's new on the MY15 thread everything or is this still a creation in progress with more announcements? PLUS....
was reading that Jeep plans to be a world dominant power with all new models coming through in 2017 with the Grand Cherokee and 2018 with the Grand Wagoner. With respect to the 2017 Grand Cherokee have you the slightest clues, ie "tinkling" around the edges or a completely new shape?

Webber, this thread is a "work in progress". Milous updates the opening post in these threads with new information as it becomes available--he posted what's currently locked in and available to him. I suspect any information that we're reading about "Jeep world dominance" is extremely high-level and will also evolve a lot from what's in the press right now.

I think that's safe to assume. After all - does anybody think the Summit is getting additional features without a price-increase?:D

Just to clarify, it would appear (correct me if I am wrong) that the next completely new GC is model year 2018 (introduced in 2017)....previously projected to be the 2017 model year, but is now bumped to the 2018 model year.

It also appears that the 2016 will get a refresh following the 2014 refresh of two extra long production years of the 2014 and 2015 (for a total of around three calendar years) so the next refresh starting model year 2016 will cover model years 2016 and 2017.

Then the all new GC in 2018 model year.

Is the above understanding correct???

I think you are right Dan... Ugh.. I think it's now a trend.. refresh. Not that I'm a Kia fan but the Sorento has looked the same since 2010 but in 2014 they called it "All new". Plus, Jeep has a good thing going with the WK2. may as well keep a good thing going.

The PDF files are *calendar* year, not *model* year.

Next GC is scheduled for MODEL year 2017.

And from what I've heard, it's certainly on track, no delays. I haven't yet figured out if the Grand Waggy will be a 2017 or 2018... I'm thinking 2017, later introduction.

So this PDF file is certainly contradictory. We will see what happens. Marchionne's "plans" never actually come true 100%.

#27 ·
GCOverland, it's been done before with the 2004 WJ.

That's interesting, Marlon.

2004 was before my "active Jeep-time" (in other words, before the brand got my close attention).

I'd love to see the all-new model in 2016 as a MY17 because it would fit my schedule better since I'm planning on getting my next Jeep this October. If we would get an all-new MY17 GC, I could switch to the new one when the warranty of my October lease/purchase expires. That would put me into a MY18 - the second MY of the new one which would be perfect.

I'm not so sure I would want an all-new GC in its first MY and that's why I hope you are right.

Unless I know for sure what's going on 'til I take delivery, I'll probably finance and maybe get the shortest available Maximum Care extended warranty at a later point in time - depending on how the schedule plays out. That would give me the option to either switch to the "major update" after 2 years, get the MY18 second MY of the all-new GC after 3 years or, if it is indeed delayed, the MY19 second MY of the all-new GC after 4 years after buying my MY15 GC.
