Ditto! Although apparently from the 2015 GC dealer code guide, the only way to get ELSD (Quadra-Drive II) is via the Off-Road Adventure II (Limited & Overland, with V8 or Diesel) or on the Summit (also with V8 or Diesel).

And of course ORA II includes air suspension.

Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

The only way I could get QD2 on a Limited in the "build one" feature is to add ORA-II which also adds QL. (QL is standard on Overland and Summit. QD2 is available on both of those as well as on the Limited with ORA-II.) And yes, the Hemi or EcoDiesel is also required to get QD2.

So unless they make a change for MY15 (doubtful as it seems to be a continuation of all things MY14 with a few added goodies for the Summit), you'll not be able to get QD2 without QL.

Frankly, I really like the QL. It's rock solid and offers nice versatility.

Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

The Summit with Argentina interior looks nice. Can't wait to see some real photos of it. Definitely there must have been some feedback that the Saddle was perhaps a bit orangey depending on the lighting. I loved the Saddle in my 2011 Summit, but this new Argentina interior might top it.

Still though, no tears that I got the 2014 Summit in early April. The 2015 changes are minor albeit it MAY have been tempting to select the Summit with Argentina interior and the California Appearance Package had I waited for the 2015. But would have to see them in person to know. Just to be a bit distinctive. The other changes are so very minor but nice to see Jeep is adding to the luxury...and shows the direction they are heading for the major refresh in 2016!!!

Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Help! Just ran across something that doesn't make a lot of sense. I am planning on buying a MY'15 GC Overland diesel.

Looking online at the 2014 pages I found that it looks like the "Trailer Tow Group IV" is not available on 4x4 Overland. A big draw was the 7100 tow rating in a mid-size SUV.

So my question: is the Trailer Tow Group IV a standard option on the Overland 4x4?

If not can it be added to the MY'15 Overland 4x4?

Ultimately, for me to get best towing with diesel am I going to have to go with Limited or Summit?

See pics:

Trailer tow is standard on the Overland as well as on the Summit.

Prices are exactly the same (at least for now), but no 0% financing (1.49% for 36 months)

Prices went up on most models except for the Overland. The Summit was increased by $400.00. Plus, a lot of increases on options, something a lot of folks don't realize as they sneak them in throughout the model year.

While some of the 2015 increases may appear to be small vs the 2014 models, keep in mind that many 2014 prices were raised just a few weeks ago, a common trend - as they can advertise a smaller increase for the new 2015 models.

The best way to compare the increase is to compare prices at the start of the model year with prices at the start of the new model year. For example, the base price of the SRT went up $1,200. But since the price difference at the end of the '14 model year is only $15 difference from the 2015 model intro price, they can advertise/promote "little or no increase".

Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Is there a way to see another picture of the dark Sienna brown of the Summit? The sample patch that the dealer showed me (printout) looked much darker than the picture on page 1. It would also be interesting to see how the wheels of the Platinum package look like.

Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I went ahead and placed my order yesterday. Decided against the Summit for a few reasons. I actually still like the Vesuvio Indigo/Brown interior best anyways, even over the new Dark Sienna Brown. Also, I may end up with some more aggressive (but close to stock size) wheels and tires at some point. The Summit may be a bit to "posh" looking for this. The Summit also looks more like a street cruiser to me, while the Overland looks for ready to do some offloading when called upon. Also it could be just a visual thing, but the Summit looks like the front facia might be a bit lower, losing ground clearance.

Anyways...

Ordered a 2015 Bright White/Vesuvio Indigo Overland 4X4 w/ Diesel with QDII and Advanced Tech. MSRP was in fact the same as 2014 at $54,480 and invoice is $51,478. My purchase price is 3.55% below invoice at $49,650.53 which was the best I could do in CA, and lower then True Car's "great buy" price by a good amount. The TX group buy at 5.5% would have eaten up all of my saving once you considered flying there and fuel, or shipping it back (I'm just about at the northern most part of CA). Going clear across the country to DC would cost even more and be quite a hassle. Wish those dealerships were closer to me, but oh well I guess.

Now, the long wait.

It's interesting that people can order MY15, yet we cannot build one yet on the Official Jeep website... wonder when?
