Next GC is scheduled for MODEL year 2017.

And from what I've heard, it's certainly on track, no delays. I haven't yet figured out if the Grand Waggy will be a 2017 or 2018... I'm thinking 2017, later introduction.
Thanks Marlon,

Good to hear from you again.

If the new GC is indeed MY17, I highly doubt we will see another "major update" on the current one - especially not since Milous already confirmed that MY15 will - just like MY14 - be an extended cycle. I highly doubt that Chrysler would update the Jeep again just to replace said update after less than a year.

It would really be helpful to know what is going on/is planned....

GCOverland, it's been done before with the 2004 WJ.

That's interesting, Marlon.

2004 was before my "active Jeep-time" (in other words, before the brand got my close attention).

I'd love to see the all-new model in 2016 as a MY17 because it would fit my schedule better since I'm planning on getting my next Jeep this October. If we would get an all-new MY17 GC, I could switch to the new one when the warranty of my October lease/purchase expires. That would put me into a MY18 - the second MY of the new one which would be perfect.

I'm not so sure I would want an all-new GC in its first MY and that's why I hope you are right.

Unless I know for sure what's going on 'til I take delivery, I'll probably finance and maybe get the shortest available Maximum Care extended warranty at a later point in time - depending on how the schedule plays out. That would give me the option to either switch to the "major update" after 2 years, get the MY18 second MY of the all-new GC after 3 years or, if it is indeed delayed, the MY19 second MY of the all-new GC after 4 years after buying my MY15 GC.

Yeah, I don't understand that. I opted for a Limited with Lux package for that very reason.

I would like to get cooled seats without having to get the dual sunroof.

What worry about such details? The moon roof (who opens it when it is hot?) is a nice feature. After considering the Limited, I realized I was wasting my time and just bought an Overland.

Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

But what if you are ran off the road into a lake or the ocean and you're going to drown potentially. Water pressure could make opening a door or window impossible and the sunroof might be you're only way out.

The Jeep cooled seats are like sitting on bricks. Like red5ive and Smiley47 I'll take my 2015 Summit with a light interior but Jeep PLEEESE make the ventilated seats an option like Mercedes ML does. At least my local upholstery shop can take out the hard plastic vents under the leather.... for a "modest fee".
