Me too.

According to wk2jeeps.com, both the diesel and the hemi come standard with an ELSD rear. Is this, in fact, the case? Wouldn't that mean you could order one with ORI and the trailer package and essentially have ORII without QL?

When I ordered my 2015 Overland with Diesel yesterday, and on Jeeps website QDII which includes the ELSD was an option, not standard.

Trailer tow package is standard though on the Overland.

QDII does seem to be standard on the Summit though.

My gripe is that almost ALL of the improvements and/or feature changes are on the SRT or the SUMMIT models.

NONE of these new options or features are available on the Overland. In fact, there are absolutely no changes to the Overland (other then price).

I'd much rather have an Overland; mainly for its better Off Road ability when compared to the Summit. But it looks like great features like the chrome minimization package (California Appearance Pkg), Active Noise Control System, Adaptive Headlights, and lots of other items are not offered on the Overland.

You have to understand that they're trying to move the Summit upmarket...doesn't surprise me.

I read on Allpar that the upgraded sound system on the Limited is an option on the 2015's.

Yeah I hear ya. The price is the same as 14's currently though.

As far as the chrome stuff goes, it's easy to paint the chrome door handles and mirror caps on the Overland. Not to expensive or intrusive. Can also put the grilles on from the SRT or Altitude. Same with the tail light bezels.

As far as AAC... Pretty cool, but the Overland was quiet enough inside for me already. Not a deal breaker.

The Adaptive headlights. Again, a nice feature, but not necessary. At least the Overland still has the nice HID/LED headlights. That's more important to me.

I had a nice $7,000 audio system in my F250 that I removed before I sold it. (Mosconi/Focal/JL/Audison) that I will be installing in the new Jeep. The Harmon Kardon upgrade meant nothing to me in the Summit.

Again, I'd rather have the ground clearance of the Overland (front facia) and I think the Summit will look funny with more aggressive wheels/tires like I want.

Not to mention the 4.5kish lower price tag...

Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Finally, the just-redesigned Jeep Grand Cherokee moves on, removing the standard dual exhaust from the V6 Limited, and making the nine-speaker setup optional on Limited. News: Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Mopar news from allpar.com

Milous, can you confirm? Does that mean a 2015 Grand Cherokee Limited won't come with the Alpine system and no dual exhaust on the V6 G.C. Limited either? And if so what is the cost on the nine-speaker setup?

No dual exhaust on the 3.6; the RC3 Alpine system is not a stand-alone option, it's only available with the $4,200 ($3,000 with CRD) Luxury Group II package.

You're kidding...I want premium sound but not Lux2. Chrysler is killing me.

The underpinnings of the Overland and the Summit are identical and the actual off-road capability is also identical...if you equip them the same. Therein lies the rub...the Summit is marketed as an up-market Lux SUV and there are some desirable off-road accommodations that are not available from the factory. But you can add them yourself after the fact...skid plates, tow hooks (requires some minor modification of the front fascia), wheels/tires. So if you want the Summit lux goodies but also want off road, you absolutely have the ability to do that. It only takes...money.

It seems the front facia is lower on the Summit... Less clearance.

Some wheels and more aggressive tires may look odd on the more posh looking Summit. That's opinion though, I suppose.

Then go Limited with no Lux2, and install your own aftermarket stereo yourself.
