No. If that future Jeep info. from wk2jeeps.com turns out correct it says all new 5th generation Grand Cherokee MY18.

It comes in very helpful for me when planning my October lease/purchase. I actually prefer that they delayed the all-new model a bit - at least under consideration that there will be another modification.

Initially, a 3-year lease on a MY15 in October would have gotten me into an all-new MY18-model in its second MY (I want to avoid the first MY).

Now, it seems that I can lease my next two GCs for 36 months/each and trade them in after 30 months - which wouldn't cost me too much (early termination of a lease after 30 of 36 months is acceptable) and would put me into an all-new Jeep in October 2019 - about a year after the 2018 (MY19) introduction. This would also mean that I can get the new MY17 about one year after its introduction.

I know that this all sounds a bit crazy but you really want some kind of schedule/plan in regards to timing. I simply don't want to pay that much to either drive an outdated model or be a guinea pig for an all-new model during its initial MY.

An all-new model in September 2017, i.e., would have caused an issue. I either would have had to lease for 2 years which is expensive or I would have had to skip the facelift and lease for 3 years (but end up in the first MY of the all-new one) or drive the MY15 for 4 years and buy extended warranty. All not so great options...

That's strange.

Why would they introduce a MY18 in September 2018?

Shouldn't that be MY19?

So I guess we can rely on the posted timeline then which is - as I stated - a great piece of information in regards to my future planning!

Dates are subject to change by Chrysler, especially when a couple years out...

That's true - but having a rough time-frame is great (especially the info that there will be another update)! A couple of months later is something I could adjust to (I don't think the updated and all-new models will show up much earlier. If I recall correctly, it's already confirmed that MY15 will be an extended one, too).

I can imagine that the main idea of introducing another update prior to the all-new model is almost set in stone because I think it takes a lot of planning (and money) to do something like that. With a sales-launch of February 2016, this update is not that far out so I think it's very likely that this will happen.

Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

So I read the list of the upgrade for 2015. Is it possible we are going to see some upgrades for the uconnect hardware as well? Possibly a higher resolution infotainment screen and faster cpu? Maybe even a higher resolution screen for the center panel as well? And while were at it a higher resolution backup camera?

I rented a 2014 with 8.4a and it wasn't bad by any means but when you see whats coming out every 3 months from smartphone makers it can help but make you envious haha

I'm 195cm (6'5"), I like my leg room, it's not that annoying, it sure as hell isn't 2 years+ wait annoying.

Welcome Stuzor! Your first post, I see. I am hoping so as well, but I doubt it at this point. In fact, I think the only hardware changes that might happen will likely be inside the unit and a tear-down would be needed to even know about them. One possibility is that they would put a 4g module for the air card in there to replace the ancient 3g one. But again, the Internet has been super-silent on any Uconnect upgrades or changes.

Not likely. The MY15 is pretty much identical to the MY14 with a few new features for the Summit, etc. Don't expect any "significant" changes for a few years at this point.
