Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I'll be ordering a'15 Limited and I really love the look of the 20" wheels and will gladly pay the $1600 for them. My question is how do they perform in all-seasons? I live in northeast Ohio where it snow six months a year and want to make sure they make sense for me.

I have a 2014 Overland with Quadra-Drive II and the 20" wheels performed just fine in all conditions, including snow and ice. With Quadra-Trac II, they might not be quite as good, but I bet they are still ample.

Stick with the 18's. The options for a good all season tire in the stock diameter are way better than with the 20's. Now if you want to put 32's on it than it's a bit of a wash.

Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Does anybody know when the order banks will open for the diesel?

Was at the dealer today and drove a 2014 diesel and loved it. He said he can't order the 2015 yet if I want the diesel (and he couldn't find me a 2014 close to what I want). Said he had no idea when he could place an order…but what would I pay for it??!?? Told him I'd talk price when there was a vehicle that I could buy…… Sent an email about the DC group buy but would like to stay in New England if I could buy here for same price.

Did you go to DC or did you get it shipped to FL?

I flew to DC to pick up my ordered 2014 GC. Was gonna drive it back but saw the Amtrak Auto Train goes from DC area to Orlando area so did that for adventure after visiting some friends in DC for a few days then drove from Orlando to Miami Beach.

DC buyers group was easy and straight forward. Would 1000% do it again.

The stock tires on these are a 30 inch diameter. With a 20 inch rim that is a low profile performance oriented tire. Some people are putting 32 in diameter tires on these for a more aggressive look. You can do this with either the 18 or 20 inch rims. You wil take a hit in gas mileage doing this though. Your other option for a more aggressive tire is to get the 18 inch rims so hou can get a stock diameter tire that has a decent tread pattern. My dad has this issue with his Durango that has 20 inch rims on it. It handles well but is crap in the rain and snow.

Unfortunately the DC Group top management will not do the deal for a car that is going to be registered in Mass. Not even for a cash deal where you bring your plates to drive it home. It doesn't make any sense but that is their position. Try TrueCar . Their best deals are about the same cost as the Texas group buy when you consider flying down and driving it back.

I live in NEO too, and the 20's with stock rubber worked fine until about 30K. I do tend to drive more "vigorously" than most, and as a result the outside shoulders to the tires wore down. I replaced the stock Forteras with some Nitto Crosstek last fall before the snow began and rolled them all winter and was surprising happy with them, I've been extremely happy with them in the rain, much better than the stock Forteras in my opinion. Don't fret the 20's in NEO because of the weather.
