I really wasn't impressed at all. In bright sunlight the new low luster pieces just look cheaper then the regular chrome. The added color matched pieces were nice.

And THEN I happen to see a 2014 Granite Summit last night...

WOW!
The Chrome pieces looked Amazing! In fact, they looked more like Black or Darkened Chrome. They really made the whole vehicle look seriously upper scale.

So now I doubt I'll be getting the "Appearance" package.
I ordered my 2015 Summit without the appearance package, and after all the rave reviews on here, I was getting a little worried. But after actually seeing it, glad I didn't order it. I like chrome, and if I am going to have chrome, the shinier the better!

And I am KZ now! Went on a train this morning. Can't wait!!

Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I know a couple years ago they released the GC "Trailhawk" special edition and they announced it in September.

Any tidbits or chance they will release a "trailhawk 2" or "trail warrior" special edition this year?

If not, I might take a closer look at the 4Runner Trail.

I wish.

I loved the TrailHawks. Even if there were no increased capabilities, at least they looked good!

In an effort to make the car even quieter and differentiate it further from the Overland. They want the Summit to almost feel like another model entirely and to make it feel more upscale. Now they can say the Summit gets active noise cancellation, an acoustic windshield and laminated rear door glass which the Overland doesn't have. IMHO just having bought one, I didn't really see the value in the Summit over the Overland, this adds value which is a good thing.

For instance, we had a 1998 LS400. In 98 they added an acoustic windshield and further sound deadening. Nobody would have said a 97 LS400 was loud. We traded that 98 in on a 2004 LS430, it added dual paned side glass, etc. It was even quieter, but the 98 LS400 was still a very quiet car.

The product needs to continually get better. Jeep has decided that theyre not going to let this vehicle get stale, which I think is great. Just because they improve something doesn't mean the previous model year was deficient in that area...everything can be made better.

Like I said, you're the first person I've ever read on here who says their WK2 was loud. I just in fact got back from going out to lunch in a coworkers G35 which is a vehicle you said was quieter...I wouldn't classify that vehicle as especially quiet at all. Both my Jeep and my Lexus are quieter.

So, like I said I just don't see where you're coming from here at all.

... and it's about dang time. This has thankfully been going on continuously since the "Jeep Big Liberty" days of 2005-2010...

Ditto and you are blowing my comment way out of proportion. It was just an observation, whether you agree or not, made in the context of the new related features. If I felt like you are claiming I would have started a thread on it or not purchased it in the beginning. That's the problem with forums sometimes, people take comments and assume intent and run with it in an unintended direction.

Debate over, please.

Try it with a midwestern grade hail storm.

Generally one ends a conversation by ceasing to reply to that conversation. As in, I said we'll have to agree to disagree, you replied further questioning me on my viewpoint...I reply to those questions and then you suddenly throw your hands up and say "Gee man, lets please drop this!". I dropped it...you picked it up.

I posted this:

So I answered your question, and you respond with this:
