July X, 2013 and later builds have ACC with Stop-n-Go...FCW is almost stop, I've never let it have control til the very end, no balls

Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I just checked my 2015MY window sticker with August build and it says "Forward Collision Warning with Stop" and "Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop" (the second of which was already on the second half of 2014MY builds).

I have read that the 2014 would apply some brake to slow the vehicle, but not enough to stop it completely. It appears that the 2015 has been programmed to now come to a complete stop. My question is, was this a software update, which effectively gives the 2014 full stop capability as well, or is this only a feature available on the 2015 model?
Seeing the number of times that my "FCW with crash mitigation" has false alarmed and applied the brakes on a wide open road...and is now shut off...I'd buy the 2014 over the 2015 just because the 2015 has this feature.

Granted, I don't yet have nearly the miles that you do in my new GC, but my 2015 rarely (maybe once) gives false alerts.

They're rare...but when they happen they leave an impression lets put it that way.

I believe the system may calibrate itself further with use. Mine went off a couple of times in the first 2-3000 miles for no good reason (one was approaching train tracks that were raised on an asphalt "hump"), but since then I've had zero false alarms (and several "real" alarms), including at the same train track spot. At 17k miles now.

Haven't had it happen yet on the Jeep but it happened on our BMW a couple times and scared the hell out of me. If the camera gets dirty it gives false alarms.

Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I've got the active braking turned off, but I have noticed that the BRAKE alarm false alarms less now that we have 7500 miles or so on it...

The ACC and FCW are all integrated together (camera and radar) albeit they are referred to as two separate features.

My 2014 window sticker says "Forward Collision Warning with Crash Mitigation" and makes no mention of Adaptive Cruise Control at all even though I know it has it.

Perhaps Milous can enlighten us if "Forward Collision Warning with Stop" is new only for 2015 or was indeed part of the later build 2014's....

No, unless the vehicle came with the "stop" feature from the factory, it's not available...not a software update. This has been mentioned in the past by insiders, but I couldn't point you specifically where.

The "Cruise w/Stop" feature was added to 2014 model year vehicles built starting July 23, 2013. The sales code on the window sticker would be "NH3" (vs "NH1" on vehicles without the "Stop" feature).
