Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I'm still waiting to pull the trigger on ordering a GC, and disappointed with the existing color choices. Most of the metallics like the Steel and Billet Silver are so heavy in odd colored flakes like purple and greed and red that if you look close the color looks all pixelated like a bad LED television. And have you looked at the green, it's basically black. What I would like most of all is a blue just lighter than their true blue. Something that actually looks blue rather than black.

Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I finally did it and pulled the trigger on a 2015 Overland with a 3.6L V6, technology group, in granite with black interior...and I love it! There are 2 little things I noticed that surprised me about the 2015...

1. I kept hearing about the "open pore" wood trim, but mine is a smooth glassy finish. The wood is a very dark charcoal grey, which looks fantastic. In pictures I have seen previously it looked more brown when pared with the black interior, but maybe it just looks different in pictures.

2. I have seen comments posted about "ECO" mode always coming on automatically when the engine is started. I have notice mine stays the way I set it. If it's off when I park, it's off the next time I start it up.

...and that new car smell is priceless!

^^^ Odd, that is glossy wood trim. I thought all the Overlands had open pore wood too. Are you 100% you bought an Overland?

Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

You get the open pore brown wood appearance with Vesuvi blue interior and glossy dark brown/charcoal wood with the Moroccan black interior on the Overland. Still dreaming of the day Jeep finally introduces blood orange or any other fun color less chrome more rugged/aggressive looking Trailhawk edition complete with Overland Off Road ii package including skid plates and limited slip differential. Not to mention red tow hooks thrown in for good measure and a skid plate for the def injector tubing. Some day this will happen, are you listening Chrysler Fiat?

The 2015 Overland I checked out with black interior also had the glossy wood trim look. I asked the car salesman about it and he said it's a protective coating that can be removed. Can anyone confirm if this is true?

Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

^^^

Hmmm...the Summit has open-pore wood with the black interior (a blacker stained wood) as well as the brown (a browner stained wood).

So, the Overland has open-pore wood EXCEPT with the black interior? That seems odd.

Anyway, a great looking Overland for sure!

That has been confirmed by other members, too, so it seems that on MY15s, the "Eco"-mode is "stored".

Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Overland with Black interior has always had gloss finish wood trim. Not open-pore.

Good to know...thanks. Now where was that one guy who was changing out his steering wheel with an SRT then back again...all because of the glossy/open-pore wood combo??? He shoulda just gotten an Overland with Black interior, problem solved!
