Yup. They switched over in early summer...

Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Need to replace an old WJ and have decided a '15 JGC Limited, 5.7L, single pane sunroof, Nav (RA4) with Tow meets our needs. That config does not exist in the color wanted. With the paint shed partially shut down for retooling when will Jeep begin to start taking orders on colors that are to be back in production next Feb & March, 2015? The local dealer said there are only 4 colors available to be ordered [blk, wht, silv, granite] with no info on when orders for other colors can be placed.

Any update / narrowing of time frame on when production of True Blue will begin other than the March, 2015 Milous posted in #811? Am assuming there will be a typical 6-8 week lag until delivery, depending on back-order levels.

The invoice price that dealer showed for a Limited is higher than what Milous has on the WK2 site which appears to be as of Aug 28. Another dealer had yet another base invoice for a Limited 4x4. Any updates? I trust the info on here more than what various dealers say.

Thanks

Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

There have been no updates to color availability that I've seen here, NEJeep...and there was just a small price increase. I don't think that Milous has had the chance to update the prices yet. They are very recent.

Thanks Jim. The FUTURE availability of the currently unavailable paint colors for MY15 [True Blue in particular] is of more importance than the recent small price changes. A couple dealers have now said just that the True Blue is not available and have no further information. They do not say the color can be ordered now though there will be an X week delay on production - and they will take an order with deposit now to get in the queue. Maybe the diesel debacle has them concerned...

If that color is not going to be available then we need to rethink what we do.

Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

At first we/I thought that some colors were actually being discontinued, but later, the factory changeover to the new paint system became the focus. There is a chart here somewhere that shows when the "other" colors are to be phased back into production with the last ones hitting in the March 2015 timeframe. It's likely that some dealers don't know the full story...we get stuff here from Milous and other insiders that some dealers never seem to know about!

This production affecting changeover is certainly a pain for folks who want to order right now, but in the longer term, it's supposedly going to help the company have both better quality as well as potentially more color flexibility. Time will tell...

I just hope that I don't suddenly have a need for a new Summit due to some unforeseen event...out of the small set of colors that will remain available for the next few months, only white would be acceptable to me.

The time lines at the factory constantly change. Things could change next week, or may not even happen for this model year. Just ask everyone on this forum who waited over a year for the EcoDiesels to come out (by the way, it was well worth the wait). If color is that important to you, wait, but be prepared, it could be a long wait.

That is kind of what I thought based on some comments about changes made on the line on the fly somewhere earlier in this thread. I could go with the white but the Mrs wants blue, or red with white a very distant 3rd. Have to believe Jeep will want to get more than 4 colors going asap - these are not exactly Henry Ford's Model T that comes in any color as long as it is black...

Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

If I recall a chart that was posted, the "plan" was for the individual colors to come back online staggered with, unfortunately, the red(s) toward the end of the renovation period.

Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

That info was in Milous' post #811 in this thread - and of course the colors preferred [blue and red] are the last to come back. Looked at a new white 2014 JGC but the $ is not discounted enough to make a 1+ year old "new" car worthwhile.

Was hoping someone one here might have an idea as to when orders will start to be taken for the colors not currently in production. Or if there is a typical time prior to production start for orders. In post #1 there is a 6 weeks gap from orders starting and production starting [June 6 to July 21.] I "have" to assume they will start the others colors at some point...

Hello All,

This is my first time post and a quick question.

Does the Overland MY15 JGC have illuminated sills and noise canceling like the Summit?

Cheers,

Paul
