Well, the truth is the order form you signed says in the fine print that the dealer is not responsible for factory price increases. I say this, because I have never seen one without it as it is an obvious disclaimer the dealer has to protect themselves with. Imagine one of the whopper $500 $1000 or $1500 prices increases happening in this situation. To that end the salesperson should forewarn you of that stipulation as it can bite between you signing at their desk and the factory officially accepting the order. Your time spread tho is very long so can't explain your particular situation. Luckily, $100 should be able to be good willed.

Further evidence of this order caveat is the dealer not being able to lock in incentives until delivery (actual contract start date signing).

Throughout the model year, there are often little changes that are made that will increase the price. The price you should pay is the price listed when you order. If the price increases after the order date, the dealer (or Chrysler) should eat the cost.

Certainly worth a try for folks.

FWIW, this link will always pull up the Equipment List (poor mans build sheet minus the sales codes) on any VIN built 1998+....

Again, I was just pointing out a discrepancy for further investigation so corrections could be made, if necessary.

I am a DC Metro Group Buy participant, I got a great price. When it comes to price increases that occur between order and delivery all I ask is that the matter be handled fairly. I believe that my dealer's position on this (correct me if I'm wrong) is that any price increases will be passed along, if significant and I object, I can terminate the deal and get my deposit back. $100 won't trigger a termination by me, $1,200 to $1,500, on principal, might. My patience is wearing thin with Jeep, Chrysler, FCA.

For sure, your heads up is appreciated by all and you should be okay given the small $. Koons or any dealer for that matter could not be expected to guarantee a final price given that their own Invoice price is not set for your order until a VIN is set by the body dropping onto the chassis (The H in MDH of the build date) and then the window sticker is generated. So folks need to know MSRP/Invoice based pricing is never locked until the VIN is tied to your order and incentives not until the day you actually do the deal.

Even tho this is a gutted, max discounted deal I am sure Nader will cover the $100 somehow.

Bona fide sold orders obtained by the dealer prior to (date of increase) will be price protected provided that:

- THE CUSTOMER NAME APPEARS ON THE FACTORY ORDER PRIOR TO SHIP DATE (KZ);

- The vehicle is delivered to the ordering customer within (10) calendar days after being received by the dealer (X date)

- The sale is reported to Chrysler Group LLC under the DealerCONNECT system within 2 calendar days of the sale.

Dealer must claim price protection by inserting the price protection program number on the Exception Claim Entry Screen when reporting the sale.

Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Shannon,

Thanks, you were right! Next time I find myself in Minnesota I'll look you up and we'll do lunch with my $100 savings. Unfortunately, I do not get to Minnesota often. A Boundary Waters Wilderness Canoe Area Excursion - Ely, MN in 1976 was the last time, I think. With the great range and capability of my new 2015 4WD Summit EcoDiesel I'm confident I could get there in any season under any condition (with DEF injector and wire harness protected, of course).

Thanks Milous. That is great to know. Whenever the True Blue comes back on line [or Jeep starts accepting orders for the blue] I will be ordering a MY15 JGC Limited with the V8 to replace our aging MY00 JGC, also in blue.
