Yea I was pretty surprised myself how decent the stock 6 speaker system sounds. Not bad and wayyyyyyy better than most standard factory audio systems I've heard in the past! Blows away the stock system in my 5 series and 3 series bmw's

I have been reading the posts here since I picked up my 2015 GC 4X4 Limited on August 14 (ordered on June 24). This is my fourth Grand Cherokee after going AWOL for the last seven years with a Land Rover.

I am extremely happy with the vehicle. Vehicle info: Maximum Steel Metallic; Black/Light Frost; Preferred Pkge 23H; Advanced Technology Group; Luxury Group II; Uconnect NAV and Off-Road Adventure II. And one chrome tipped exhaust.

I did the Uconnect software upgrade yesterday (I don't see or hear any difference).

Anyway, I decided to join the forum and perhaps I can contribute something down the road.

Milous, any idea when they will do the announcement and update the web site for the 2015s? Is Sept 8 still the open the book date for diesels? This is a pain especially since I cannot find any dealer here, in Ohio, or DC who will even take a tentative order until they know what the price of the diesel will be or if the order book opening will bring a price increase.

#861 ·
CRD pricing is available in the dealer order guides, and has been for quite awhile. The latest guide, issued last week, contains selected price increases, but no pricing changes on the CRD option. I have been told that barring any further delays, ordering will open on Monday.

I’m trying to decide between a 2014 and 2015 Overland. One of the few differences I found is that the 2015 technology group comes with “Forward collision warning with stop”, vs. the 2014 with “Forward collision warning with crash mitigation”. I have read that the 2014 would apply some brake to slow the vehicle, but not enough to stop it completely. It appears that the 2015 has been programmed to now come to a complete stop. My question is, was this a software update, which effectively gives the 2014 full stop capability as well, or is this only a feature available on the 2015 model?

#866 ·
I just checked my 2015MY window sticker with August build and it says "Forward Collision Warning with Stop" and "Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop" (the second of which was already on the second half of 2014MY builds).

#874 ·
The ACC and FCW are all integrated together (camera and radar) albeit they are referred to as two separate features.

My 2014 window sticker says "Forward Collision Warning with Crash Mitigation" and makes no mention of Adaptive Cruise Control at all even though I know it has it.

Perhaps Milous can enlighten us if "Forward Collision Warning with Stop" is new only for 2015 or was indeed part of the later build 2014's....

#879 ·
Can you post your window sticker....or link to it online if still active?

#884 ·
Thanks for posting --- My BUILD SHEET (for 2014 Summit) states "LSRS - Forward Collision Warning Plus"

Do you have a build sheet? If so, check to see what Code and Description you have for your FCW system and post it. That'll definitely get to the bottom of it.
Here is what the build sheet Milous provided says: "LSRP Forward Collision Warning Plus"

Here is what the build sheet Milous provided says: "LSRP Forward Collision Warning Plus"
2015 - "LSRP" and 2014 (late build at least) - "LSRS" so looks like there is indeed a difference... There is a lot going on so perhaps it slipped by Milous without noticing.

#873 ·
I've got the active braking turned off, but I have noticed that the BRAKE alarm false alarms less now that we have 7500 miles or so on it...

#885 ·
^^^ Thanks for posting the 2014 and 2015 window stickers. Is this a change in actual features or just a change in descriptions? Can someone check their build sheet for the FCW code?

#888 ·
#891 ·
On the WK2Jeep site it lists and has listed the FCW with Code LSR....so guess there is a missing 4th character....what doesn't make sense is the listings online for used 2014's that list LSRP......... I know Milous will have an answer once he reviews it, he's probably been really busy with all the tracking - LOL

#893 ·
So no change in the FCW system for later (7/23/2013) 2014 builds and the recent 2015 builds even though the window sticker now describes it as "with Stop"???

I'm taking my Summit out now and gonna drive into a wall and see...

#899 ·
Ahh, more evidence of why I called the early 2014s 2013.5s. :p

#900 ·
The 2015 brochure states:

FORWARD COLLISION WARNING WITH CRASH MITIGATION (FCW)(14) Radar sensors detect when Grand Cherokee may be approaching another vehicle too rapidly and send an audible and visual alert to the driver. The system also provides 1.5 seconds of braking assistance if the driver does not react in time. Available.

(14) FCW system is solely an alert system for the front of the vehicle which does not take any actions to change vehicle dynamics to avoid a collision; not a substitute for active driver involvement. The driver must remain aware of traffic conditions and be prepared to use brakes to avoid collisions.

So that makes it clear as mud..... 1.5 seconds of braking BUT then footnote says "solely an alert system....does not take any action." No wonder I hit the wall! LOL

#905 ·
Quick question.... I'm looking at a 2015 Overland w/ 3.0 diesel (22P) and QDII (AWB) options. I noticed that select speed control is now available on the diesel.. Does select speed control come standard with QDII or is it an add on option?

Thanks!

Well the sun has set in Detroit on September 8, 2014. Has anybody been able to get a diesel GC order into Chrysler today? The web site is still pushing 2014s and dealers are still saying they can't order a 2015 diesel, and that they don't trust the 2015 ordering guide they got to even price one out. Anybody have a new date for the diesel order book to be opened?

#915 ·
Yes, it happens every model year, vlnad123. Production (and ordering) starts months in advance of the "official marketing kickoff" for a given model year.
