Can you touch on this a bit? What does it cover, and for how long?

I'll bet you are not the first to wonder about it. The engineers who designed the engine might have even considered it. Does the owners manual suggest a different oil for extreme conditions?

Basicly it covers all non maintenance mechanical for unlimited miles and years. Gives you rental car for covered work also. Its called mopar maximum care lifetime. You can read about the specifics at the website. I paid $ 2100 for it. Very good deal if you plan to run the jeep until the wheels fall off. If you trade cars every 4 or 5 years dont waste your money.

I looked into the maximum care $100 deductible on the chryslerwarranty website the other day. They wanted $2860 for lifetime... I have a 2014, 20 k miles and 4 wheel drive. How'd you grab it for $2100? That's an awesome deal.

I wonder if they'll give you a better price on it, (Mopar Maximum Care Lifetime), if you buy it when you purchase the vehicle new? I plan on keeping this thing for a good long time. So for me it would be worth looking into. Especially if it covers everything mechanical forever.

Check out the price a Zeigler first. If your dealer won't match the price, buy it online. This is a Chrysler dealer selling the Chrysler plan a t a discount.

Some dealers will, um...deal...but many of us have found purchasing online from another dealer like Ziegler already mentioned provides the best price. Mine was $2180 at the time I bought for the Mopar MaxCare Lifetime Extended Service Contract with $100 deductible. (price is slightly higher now I believe)

MaxCare is on an exclusion basis...there is a very, very short list of things "not" covered and they are primarily wear items that are expected to need replacement from time to time; filters, wipers, etc. If it's not on that list, it "is" covered. During the OEM warranty period, there's no deductible and the rental/loaner is still available. Once you cross 3/36 and end your OEM warranty, your deductible applies for covered incidents. In the case of the lifetime contract (lifetime of the car based on ACV as spelled out in the contract), the loaner/rental is available for the first 7 years. MaxCare contracts relative to time and miles are calculated from when the vehicle first went into service, not when you buy it, but you do not have to buy the contract at the same time as you get your JGC.

If you have Geico, they offer Mechanical Breakdown Insurance. I've never had to make a claim, but those who have swear by it and it's only a few dollars a year. But there is a $250 deductible for each incident.

Never really noticed mds rumble... I can only tell it is going on by watching the instantaneous mileage readouts.

I do wonder what the torgue/hp of the V8 is when running in V4 mode.
The mileage sure jumps if traffic, terrain, speed, and foot heaviness allow staying there.

Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee - V-8 Or V-6 ??

OK, here's the deal. If I buy a NEW 2015 Grand Cherokee 2WD with a 5.7 HEMI it costs $2315.00 on the Ziegler website if I buy at the time of purchase. This is for lifetime everything with a $100.00 deductible.

I see this whole deal as a, "Cadillac Health Insurance Plan" for your car. If I'm going to be dropping $40K+ on this thing out the door by the time I'm through, what the hell is another $2,300.00? At least that's the way I see it. I'm retired, and I like the piece of mind knowing I can drive it until I die, or the wheels fall off, whichever comes first, with zero worries.

And let's face it. All it takes is one big thing to go wrong with the engine or trans out of warranty, and I'll get more than my money back. It's interesting that 4WD and diesels cost more. Also they won't even give it to you with a Volkswagen Jetta Diesel. Big POS I assume is the reason why. Too lousy of odds for them to even mess with.
