No "duh" here at all...that's a different concept than the current Altitude as I mentioned previously. You're asking for an appearance package. Current Altitude, while having appearance elements, is a defined features/options package designed for the mass market at just above a base Laredo price point. That's why I asked what might seem at first to be a "stupid" question since your answer (and some others) point to something that's different than Jeep's intent for "Altitude".

I agree that offering an appearance package that brings body-color trims and less or minimal chrome might be a popular option for a reasonable (albeit still small) subset of buyers and hope they add something like that for folks who want it. Given they are trying that kind of thing with Summit for MY15 as an option, perhaps it will come for other trim levels in a format that has been suggested here in this thread. But that's not likely going to be something called "Altitude"...

You act as if the altitude is a package without any options... The way you define it is not correct. You don't just walk in pick "altitude" and they are all the same. They have options as well. Like premium sound, or trailer tow package, or backup camera, CD player etc.

It's a stupid question because you clearly define it as an appearance package so what exactly do you think an altitude overland would be? A blacked out appearance package on a overland the way you describe it. I'm not arguing with you but you literally answered your own question before you asked it.

Instead of thinking of it as an overland with altitude package think of it as a altitude with the options available across all trim lines instead of the smaller limited set available
to it.

I didn't say that at all. Go back and read my post(s). It is true that I didn't mention the (very short) list of options available for Altitude, however, but that was because it wasn't material to the discussion.

I didn't say that Altitude was just an appearance package. Quite the opposite. Read what I actually wrote (multiple times)...

Why do you need to pick a fight in a discussion like this? I don't get it...

I don't care what they call it or how it's thought of. I just want to be able to get a Jeep from the factory that has most or all available options but without all the chrome.

Re: 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude III

Sorry I'm ranting. I'm pissed this wasnt mentioned a few months ago when I picked up my altitude. Makes me regret buying since I wanted more options but the chrome killed the deal for me. The altitude was the only reason I bought this vehicle. In the end I should have just got the SRT. Oh well something new comes down the pipe all the time just sucks that they don't have some sort of roadmap out for consumers for the next year. I guess we'll know what this new package includes in a few months.

Re: 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude III

My two cents. They will not offer a Hemi or Diesel in the Altitude. A Hemi Altitude would be $20 ish k less than a SRT. You can do a lot of personalizing for that number.

Depending on how swappable, it might be much easier for us Altitude owners to upgrade OEM if the new Altitude offers LED standard.

They did it before so why not? Blacked out parts and a 5.7 Hemi wouldn't be the same as an SRT8.
