A true dual exhaust runs separate catalytic converters, mufflers and/or resonators for each exhaust bank. You won't find many vehicles running that set up today.
Actually, there are a few out there.
My 2010 Subaru Legacy 3.6R had a cat on each side with the pipes going into an X and then dual pipes going to the back of the car.
On the flip side, my '93 Audi 90S had dual cats converging into one pipe with a single exhaust at the back.
