Re: 2015 New Overland Purchase

I am going with the black interior......the lighter interior just has too many mixes of colors (between the wood, dash, seats, beads, console ...ect). Plus I worry about keeping a lighter color clean

What interior/exterior colors did you get along with which options?

I picked up my 2015 V8 Overland less then a month ago. I went with a fully loaded Granite/Black version. Hopefully you got the advanced tech package since I think its worth its weight in Gold!

This is the first vehicle I've owned with a black interior. Most of my previous ones had light colored interiors (2012 WK2 Mineral Gray/Light Frost Beige was my previous ride).

So far, I'm LOVING the Granite/Black combo!

Re: 2015 New Overland Purchase

We decided on the Granite exterior and light frost interior for our 2015 Overland. I wanted the Black, but the wife thought it looked like a hearse. We looked at the white exterior, but I thought it would show up the dirt too much, so we settled on gray. We aren't obsessive about washing the exterior and the gray can look ok, even when it's a little dirty. We looked at the steel exterior and that was an option, but we like the gray metallic, which looks great in the sun.

I remember too many days being really uncomfortable in black seats when it's a summer sunny day, so we opted for the light frost. Also i like the more open feeling with a higher interior. The darker interiors make it fueled closed in. Light Frost os lighter than I would like. It's almost an off white, not a tan. Cleaning will be an issue, so we're probably going to put more time into cleaning the leather seats. So far they look ok after 6 months. We bought weather tech floor mats and cargo liner to deal with water, snow and dirt in the winter months. They fit perfectly and have raised edges so the water stays on the mats. I think it would be difficult to keep the light frost carpeted mats clean.

I went to an instructional session last weekend at a local high end detailer. They said you should clean your seats monthly if you use the car every day. Once a quarter if you drive less frequently. Cars that typically only have a driver and no one else don't need to be cleaned much at all. They recommend using commercial detailing products available on web sites. They use Leather Master cleaner and conditioner instead of an OTC. You need both. For seats that don't get much use, you can skip the cleaner and use the conditioner. They also recommend making your own surface cleaner using any citrus based degreaser diluted 10 to 1 in a spray bottle.

Good luck. I think all the Jeep colors look great.

Clean seats every month! I clean mine every 10 years or so, when I sell it I will vacuum them to get sand out of cracks etc. Black interior of course.

Re: 2015 New Overland Purchase

Ok
We r about a week in
Amazing how far Jeep has come and I so prefer the overland over RR. Value for buck and interior is elegant
I drove with the MOPAR CAI today and really felt throttle response and the deep growl before take off is noticeable. I have not tested if it effects highway miles

Re: 2015 New Overland Purchase

Yes... I'm researching now Rocky road bumper and winch
I like the flush euro look with light bar
Why doesn't American version sit flush with bumper!

Also think about rack system

Re: 2015 New Overland Purchase

Ok ordered the RRO complete rack for the overland.

Didn't want to spend several hundred on a hitch bike rack and also needed extra room for gear/luggage on vacations, so roof rack seemed most versatile and bang for buck. Will be attaching RockyMount bike racks up there. Only issue will be height and loading and off loading bikes. The RRO racks also look great and make the Jeep look more unique.

To gain access to roof I found Gobi racks makes a ladder that easily attaches to lift gate.

Next Mods:

RRO front winch. Right now I'm leaning toward basic sleek option with no bars or protruding box. I think newer 2014 options don't look as refined.

RRO Super Sliders look great and will provide add step access to roof rack
Don't really have any need for sliders other than looks and function. Most of my off reading will be beach sand and dunes

Re: 2015 New Overland Purchase

I hope you have lightweight bikes. I got tired of putting my 17 lb road bike on top of my WRX, so I can't imagine lugging a heavy mtn bike or cruiser up on top of an SUV.

I switched to a hitch mount and will never go back. 1upUSA makes an awesome rack.

Re: 2015 New Overland Purchase

I get it! I have two road bikes and lightweight Cannondale. I agree, if I had to bring my bikes to where we ride all the time I would go with hitch mount. But since I rarely have to do that on Cape Cod...I wanted the most out of my roof mount carriage. Also I'm going to install a Gobi ladder on tail gate and that will make it easier climbing up and down.
