2015 Shifter Recall - A question

Had to take mine in for some other software updates and the shifter recall was done at the same time.

Question - Was there meant to be an amendment placed in the owners manual about changes to the shifter. I ask because none were and I was told nothing about the changes when I picked the vehicle up. The recall was definitely done as I checked by opening the vehicle door while in neutral when I got home, and it went into park.

Yes there is supposed to be a yellow card left in the jeep, ill take a picture of the card tomorrow at work and post the picture, I've got about 100 of them on my tool box. But next time your at your dealership let them know the tech didn't do his job and ask for a card.

Re: 2015 Shifter Recall - A question

I was not briefed at all on recall either and as far as I know they didn't mess with any manuals in my glove box. That's fine with me because I already know what it does. Now info can just remember to never take my seatbelt off before I do something like backing up and getting as close to the curb as I can lol. I almost did that the other day work because I like to park in this one spot and came his close to opening the door while moving. I would have looked like an idiot.

Thanks, while I am fairly sure I understood from all the info posted on this forum what the recall entailed, the card would have been confirmation I had indeed understood correctly.

Definitely not getting this stupid hindrance of a recall done. Just opened the door and unbuckled my seat belt to reach down and pick up the weekly adds off my driveway like I do every Wednesday.

I've got an oil change coming up and plan on TELLING the dealership to NOT do this TSB. I'll also be printing up the same instructions to not perform this TSB and record the entire transaction.

Because I don't trust ANY dealership as far as I can throw them!

And you can still do that after the recall but if you were to slip off the brake and fall out of the jeep as you are reaching out to get the paper the jeep wouldn't start driving away and over you.

But really you can open the door with your seat belt off without it going into "AUTOPARK" as long as you dont let off the brake pedal, you can also leave the jeep in R, N, or D and push the start button to turn it off and it will go to park by itself, kinda fun to play with.

Re: 2015 Shifter Recall - A question

I took mine to have the recall done about a month ago. Took about 2 and 3/4 hours. No card offered, or placed in the vehicle. But the recall was definitely done

Re: 2015 Shifter Recall - A question

Separate question but related to the recall:

Does the recall fix increase the height of the gear shifter? I swear when I got back into my jeep after the recall that the gear shifter felt slightly taller. I dont know if its my imagination but it definitely felt (and still does) feel different in height.
