2015 Summit - Opening the windows with the remote?

  1. Anyone have a 2015 that knows how to open the windows with the remote? I could do this on my 2011 Overland, thinking its a setting. Ive only owned this for 1 day now. Love it @ 43 Miles :-)

Re: 2015 Summit - Opening the windows with the remote?

My understanding is that that remote feature was discontinued (safety reasons or something).

Re: 2015 Summit - Opening the windows with the remote?

It was dropped in the 14MY.

I don't understand the safety problem with opening them. On my last vehicle you could open all the windows and sunroof with the remote. You had to put the key in the door to close them all at once.

My MY12 does not have that feature, either. There is a thread about this at another Jeep forum site with the same conclusion...safety/liability.

Re: 2015 Summit - Opening the windows with the remote?

I thought 2011 was the first and last year you could do this?

I'm not 100% certain, but I seem to recall there's a hack to make it work on 2012 and 2013s. Something to do with the fob.

I think that had to do with the flipper glass, but I could be mistaken. As for the window, I remember seeing this was discovered only on the 2011 models and no other year could do this.

Yes you can get a remote to open the flipper glass on 2012 & 2013 Grand Cherokees;

Got Key Fob to open Flipper Glass

Remote Power Window FOB Function

But unfortunately nothing on getting the remote to open the front door windows like the 2011's.
