Re: 2015 Summit Platinum

I know there has been lots of controversy over the headliner with the Sienna/Black interior. My Summit has it and I was worried about it while I was waiting for it to be built. But now that I have it, I don't mind the headliner color at all. The color is more of a light tan to me than silver. It just really disappears from notice when in the car. While I don't think it was the best choice of colors with the interior, it is really just part of the character of the car.

Re: 2015 Summit Platinum

...and for those of us who hate dark interiors, the lighter headliner helps keep things from feeling too closed in...

'Tis a very subjective thing!

Agreed Jim but don't understand why Jeep will not give the consumer the option for a 58k vehicle. The stubbornness is what bothers me.

Re: 2015 Summit Platinum

It's a very rare thing in recent years that you could order anything outside of the stated options and packages for most vehicles in the mass market. It's no longer like it was "back in the day" when my dad would order a vehicle, select every little thing he wanted on it individually and get exactly what he wanted. Production was different back then. Today on the lines, things move so fast that the options and packages are, um...packaged...for efficiency.

And honestly, while $58K is not chump-change for most individuals, it's not exactly "high end" anymore when you look across the industry. You'll pay a lot more in most cases for anything that allows individual customizations and choices. That said, I don't disagree that I'd love to have the choice, or at least more choices, when it comes to colors of interior and exterior, particularly in the Summit which is what I would buy again the next time. But that's not likely going to happen...

Re: 2015 Summit Platinum

All good points again Jim. Just a little irritating. Love the WK2 Summit but I guess I like options. My first WK2 was a Summit with Saddle Brown and I really loved the dark roof.

Love the seats and interior in the X5 but hate the exterior. Love the Range Rover throughout but hate the 6 mos wait and no negotiation. Not a fan of the look of the ML and the Cadillac Escalade is nice but too square and I can't believe I am saying this but too big for me. I am 6'6" tall.

What to do...

Re: 2015 Summit Platinum

You're being way to picky if the color of roof liner is a deal breaker.

I was thinking about the lighter interior as well but when I saw the headliner and dash, it only took me 2 seconds to decide that it wasn't for me. However, it never came to my mind that the vehicle wasn't the right one.

Heck, I even switched from black to white just because of the CD-Player...

When it comes to colors, there are several options that "work" - you just have to be a bit more open minded. A walk over the dealer's lot can be an eye-opener...

Good point GC.. Look around it might sit differently in person.. To me the brown and black interior are great.. That brown looks even better depending on the color car you get.. My 2 cents

My Summit with the saddle interior has a tan-ish white roof...

Re: 2015 Summit Platinum

I don't know, but that's an actual photo of my Summit's interior. The Overland (non-Summit at the time) had some color differences with the "Saddle" interior including a black dash, but I don't remember what it was "up top".

Re: 2015 Summit Platinum

Mine had saddle brown dash but thought that the roof was black. I purchased the MY11 in last 2010. Loved it but traded it in for MY14 Summit w black interior. Debating to get newer MY14 since mine was early production 14 and there are some differences or get the MY15 Summit.
