Re: 2015 Tahoe????? No thanks! WAY overpriced compared to grand cherokee or durango

Believe me, I tried to find something, anything I liked 75% as much as the Jeep because of the issues I had with the 2011 for within $10k more than the Jeep and there was nothing I truly would rather have than the Jeep...hence why I got a 2014.

It is undoubtedly in my mind one of if not the greatest value for money vehicles on the road today.

I actually really like the new GM interiors, the materials are great and they are very comfortable. Honestly my black Jeep interior is no different than the black interior of the Sierra I test drove (other than the Jeep is smaller). I also agree with reddogg, that these two vehicles are in different segments. Ultimately I wanted to go smaller in vehicle size and that was the primary reason I chose the Jeep over the Yukon/Sierra. Had nothing to do with the interiors as they both were great. Just my opinion.

Your 100% right on that. The interior in my Jeep is no better than the GM, the only thing different is the center console cover in the jeep is leather. They both use cushioned plaster or what ever it's called everywhere.
The Tahoe's and GC's are not in the same class, to me the Jeep is the best in its class and the Tahoe's are the best in their class.

Re: 2015 Tahoe????? No thanks! WAY overpriced compared to grand cherokee or durango

I have a 10 Tahoe and it's the best ride I've ever owned. No issues at all and properly priced at 55k.

Bought my wife a 2014 overland for 50k and it's been in the shop 3 times with under 5k miles on it...

I agree the 2015 Hoe is overpriced though. Just go for an Escalade if you are going to spend that much coin.

This! Before I bought my Jeep I went to my local GM dealer to check out a lightly used Sierra Denali but we couldn't work out a price on it, and the sales guy told me they are having a huge sale on Tahoe's so I agreed to look at a couple. He showed me an LTZ with pretty much every option you could get and the sticker was somewhere around $65k. I couldn't believe it! I asked the guy why not just buy an Escalade at that price, especially since you got the 6.2 in the Cadillac instead of the 5.3 - he didn't have a good answer for me.

My issue with GM interiors is feel. The material quality may be fine, but the feel of their buttons, the font they use for their controls and readouts, it just looks cheap and ugly to me. I drove a new Cadillac CTS and while I liked the interior overall...it lacks a certain level of polish IMHO.

Wow the interior is not appealing at all. I kind of like the outside appearence though.

I too considered a Tahoe before buying my GC but as others have stated the GC is a much better value for the money and is not like every other SUV around. Way too many Tahoes around here.

I like the shape and overall look of the interior, but in person it doesn't appeal to me at all for the reasons I mentioned above.

Re: 2015 Tahoe????? No thanks! WAY overpriced compared to grand cherokee or durango

Wow. Kind of a ridiculous discussion here. First off, the Yukon/Tahoe/Escalade/Denali are much larger than a GC. I have both, the GC is a sedan with a hatch; my Yukon has a whole separate HVAC system for the rear passengers. Now the current WK2 Overland interiors are very nice I agree, but the 07-14 Full size Gm's are also pretty nice, especially an Escalade. The high price they're asking is just because they can get it. Seriously, a $50,000 JKU? Completely ridiculous, but they are super popular right now as are the GC's. SRT's are stupid expensive also. Now that aside, the reliability of the Full size Gm's are unmatched in my opinion. The 5.3/6.0/6.2 are some of the best engines made. Yes, the Tahoe/Yukon might not be the first to get the coolest gadgets and toys, there's alot of things I see on other trucks and think why doesn't GM do that? Like the huge sunroofs some vehicles have, or more LED lighting. But I'm one of those customers that value reliability over being the first to have something new, only to have it break. The full size GM's loose alot of value in the first couple of years, but then hold very strong in price for a long time.

I could not disagree more. The Escalade's interior would be nice if an Escalade were $50-60k...but the Escalade is a $70-85k truck...when you understand that $85k gets you a Range Rover, base or not...the Escalade just absolutely does not hold up inside. Coarse plastics, mismatching trim, ancient readouts and displays...

The new Escalade is better, but also more expensive. When you factor in that a loaded '15 Escalade is approaching $95k...thats a Range Rover with options. No thanks.

I'm not comparing it with the Jeep...but when you compare these trucks to what you really can get...for instance you can buy a Mercedes GL or a Range Rover Sport or a Lexus LX570 for what a loaded Yukon costs. Thats crazy IMHO, the truck just doesn't hold up against those vehicles.

Re: 2015 Tahoe????? No thanks! WAY overpriced compared to grand cherokee or durango

Ya $95,000 is ridiculous, but I don't think a range rover is an upgrade in any way over an Escalade. No way no how. Range rovers have the worst reliability record out there. At least when I spend $95,000 on an Escalade I wouldn't worry about it. Plus the new ones are finally getting a selectable transfer case. 6.2, 6L65E and selectable transfer case? Sounds awesome. Not $95,000 awesome tho.

Modern Range Rovers are much better in the reliability department. I wouldn't hesitate to lease one any more than I hesitated to lease two Jeeps
