Re: 2016 GC Overland Lease question.

Are you leasing or buying this? your thread title says lease but those are purchasing numbers.

43,685/72 months = $606.74
43,685 x 1.9% APR = $830.015
Total Monthly Payments: $618.26 (Excluding TTL)

Your lease payments should be far less than what it would cost to purchase it. Did they quote you lease payments?

This seems high but then again I don't know what state you live in. Did they give you what money factor is as well as the residual percentage? Everyone on this forum is incredibly helpful when it comes to these things but Edmunds has a forum to get exact numbers on a lease for your area with Chrysler Capital. I leased a 2014 limited 3/36 with 1k down in February 2014 and pay $361 a month before taxes that my state throws at me ($384 total). Everyone's situation is different but really look at the numbers and research as much as possible to see what others are paying and go from there.

Re: 2016 GC Overland Lease question.

I say run from this deal

Take a look at the image above. Its a standard Lease v. Buy calculator. Just plugging in basic information shows that it would be cheaper to buy it and finance it than it would be to lease it. Unless something is wrong with my math or I am missing some numbers, I think you are getting raked over the coals on this deal

Re: 2016 GC Overland Lease question.

Okay. Lets try this again.

I had to read through the posts again to understand what was going on

Here is the updated calculator with the correct numbers you put in your post for both leasing and purchasing. The main thing I didnt read before is that they offered you 0% for 36 months. Of course leasing is going to be cheaper if youre trying to pay off a 45k vehicle in 3 years.

If you qualified for 0% APR/36 mos then you would definitely qualify for 1.9% APR for 72. The 72/mos of financing would bring your payments down to $685 (see above photo). After 36 months you would owe $19,395. You can then take the positive equity in your vehicle and roll it into another new vehicle. (all these numbers are with $0 down and dont take into account TTL, theyre rough numbers).

IMHO, I say if youre going to lease than those numbers are wayyyy too high. Go with the purchase route and use the positive equity at the end of 3 years to buy yourself another new GC

Re: 2016 GC Overland Lease question.

What's killing you here is the low residual at 48%. The MF on the lease really isn't all that bad, though not the best either at 1.9% - they might be inflating this a bit to pad their profit which most dealers try to do since most customers don't know the buy rate and are none the wiser. At 48% for a 2016 I would be curious to see what they are putting on the left over 2015 models, you might even come out ahead on a 2015 since you can squeeze more off the cap cost.

Residual set by the leasing arm, I guess Chrysler Capital in this case. Though last year in Feb, 2015 overlands had residuals in the 53-54% range so not sure why they are setting the residual so low right now. If these are indeed the legitimate MF and Residuals that Jeep is offering I think they are going to have a hard time moving the 16's on lease unless they put 4 zeros in front of the MF and offer even larger incentives. To give you a reference, I leased a very similar 2015 Overland last year in Feb, was paying $479 and that was with zero money down for a 3/36, 15k a year should only add $15-20 a month.

You are looking at loaded V8 summit numbers for an overland - run from that deal.

Thanks for all the replies.
The 72 months at 1.9% then keep or trade up sounds like a deal.

Re: 2016 GC Overland Lease question.

Is the dealership you're working with a true car dealership as well? When I bought my vehicle I filled out a try car price quote at my dealership. I didn't do anything with the quote but two weeks later they emailed me a $1000 off coupon. No strings or conditions. Just a cool grand off the price of the vehicle.

Also, look into other places to get your financing. A lot of the time jeep will offer you $500/$1000 off your vehicle price OR some great finance deal (0% for 60 or 1.9% for 72). The finance guy at my dealership got me the same 1.9% jeep was offering but through capital one. So I was able to take advantage of jeeps additional incentive AND get the low financing rate

Re: 2016 GC Overland Lease question.

My lease on my overland HA was decent.

Sticker $50,085

$2500 mid Atlantic lease cash
$4500 lease incentive

My preferred pricing through work applied as well

$2500 down, $550/month

Buy after 3 years is $24,xxx

I will most likely be buying it when it's done.
