The info I received says SRT production starts 1/14. Still no order codes for the Night Package (2/1/16) and Performance Brake Package.

Does anyone know if I order the GC 75th Edition (Laredo) with the Off-Road 1 package, are the wheels still the bronze special wheels?

Re: 2016 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Looks like the 7% under invoice DC Group Buy is back for 2016s. Not a bad price to be one of the first takers on a GC new model year launch. I took advantage of this when the 2014s first hit the street. If you are buying and reasonably close to DC look into it.

I noticed that on the window sticker from your previous post. 22 mpg highway?? What changed from 2014-2015? The EPS can't make that much difference.

Also noticed that the 8 speed trans with the 5.7 engine is assembled in US. That can't be good, unless the programming is exactly the same as the German made trans on the 2014-2015's. Otherwise they will have all kinds of programming headaches like they did with the US made trans that got dumped into the 2014-2015's with the 6 cylinder engine.

So by the time they get delivered in April to May, the 2017's will be close to starting production. Might as well wait for a 2017. But then the 2018 will be redesigned. Oh the torture. It never ends.

I was wondering how it picked up 2 mpg also, changes are the EPS you mentioned, some aluminum suspension parts for weight and they changed the tires to Bridgestone's with lower rolling resistance. not a bad 2 mpg pickup on the v8 for just those items. I think they kind of under shot it in 2014/15 anyway though was only rated at 20 but it was never hard to get 24 out of it on highway.

The key about the ZF 8HP70 trans is that even though they are now making it in the US, ZF is still the manufacturer (in Georgia if I remember right). The 845RE 8spd trans in the v6 one that some people still have shifting issues with 3 years later and is made in Kokomo, IN by Chrysler under license from ZF. So big difference there, the ZF one runs right but the one Chrysler put their fingers in is the troublesome one.
