Re: 2016 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Hi Everyone, Rookie JG poster here. Been following this forum since last summer, and anxious to pull the trigger on a new 16 GC Summit soon. Any Chicagoans here? What dealerships are offering the best deals on a new 16, and what is a fair price to pay?

New member here, too...I've been following this thread for months, and it really helped, along with all my other research, to finally go down and order a new 2016 Summit. 8 to 10 weeks is gonna seem like forever!

That's exactly why they added that cheap looking piece of chrome plastic onto the storage compartment door. To cover the 98% of the time misaligned gap between the door and the console. They just don't know how to get that crooked gap to be the same on every vehicle. You can see in the photo of post #1253, that the gap is terrible on that door/console area. Six years this vehicle has been in production and the crooked gap still exists. Pathetic.

Here's a hint Chrysler, quit pushing these vehicles off the assembly line so quickly and "Improve your severe lack of quality control".

I got mine in November of 2014 and the light is blue as well.

I can change the color of the screen background. Mine is currently set to brown to match the leather...

What engine did you get? And color combo? Thinking granite with sienna / blk interior. Platinum package, not a fan of the chrome handles & mirrors. Where are you located? -J

I went with the V8...don't really care about mpg, and I like power and speed
I'm getting the Velvet Red with black interior and California Edition (seems they dropped the Platinum term from that package). Also added the block heater and skid plate group. I Chose NOT to get the CD player (I like my center console storage) or the back seat blue-ray system.

I test drove a 2015 with the Sienna/blk interior, and it actually looked orange...really ugly in my opinion.

I'm in the Denver, CO area.

And in case you were wondering, I opted for a 36 month lease.

If by JK, you mean WK, then I'll say that I'm not sure. I'll find out when I get into work today.

Can you tell me how you change the background lighting ? I could've sworn when I first got my summit , there was a option to do it but now it's gone .

Oh my god . I thought the same thing . I test drove a summit with the Siena brown as well . It looks orange for some reason . I think it's overhead bluish type color that gives it that look. As said before that they should have left the dark Grand Canyon color for the overhead .

Re: 2016 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

The start/stop feature on the 2016 3.6L does have an off button for those still wondering about that.

From the owners manual...
