Re: 2016 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Sort of posed this question at "what did you do to your WK2 today" earlier, but, the (my) New Shifter has a Large "detent?" button on the front end - ? - to "be Able to" or "Allow" the Driver to Shift from PRND ? ? ?
With mine, it seems, I don't know - Soft? - almost like it has no real function!
In fact I have accidentally "bumped" the shifter from Drive to Neutral, thankfully in Parking Lot situations. Going to the Dealer tomorrow to "get the scoop" !
What gives? Or should I say, WHY does it "Give" and not Hold the shifter in the selected mode ? ? ?

Ha Haaa ! Dry humor/sarcasm . . . such a wonderful way to express, yes?

Oh, and "yes" to the question. 'Doubting Thomas's (or Fly's/Lou's) leave no stone unturned'! The "truth" is still out there Scully, if only "they" would give it up!

Most automatic cars will let you shift from D to N at any speed. The button must be pressed to shift from P to R, N to R and R to P. Even if you press the button, you can't go from N to R unless you're stopped or a very low speed.
