Re: 2016 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Not sure if it's been mentioned but will there be a 2016 Altitude? And if so, will it have the Bi-Xenon HID Head Lamps and LED running lights like the Limited??

Nobody caught that.

I'm surprised.

And nobody caught it the last time either.

Transmission heater? Is this the fix for the 3.6L 8-speed transmission issues?

I think it's an efficiency move. These transmissions take forever to get to normal operating temperature.

But it will increase carbon buildup, which isn't good.

True. Ford, with all their EcoBoost engines recently stated that they have yet to come up with a recommendation to deal with this. But they said it should not be a concern for at least 100,000 miles.

Sounds like FCA is updating Uconnect for 2016 models according to Allparnews.

Sounds like Jeep is trying to scare me away from a '16.

New Steering

New uConnect

I'll probably hit something while looking for a misplaced icon.

They probably thought of that and lock you out from doing ANYTHING with uconnect while driving so as not to be distracted.

Yes I'm still a bit miffed that they lock out the nav/keyboard on my 2014 because at times it would be nice the passenger could use the navigation keyboard type destinations when VR isn't hearing things right.

Re: 2016 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I am getting pressure form my dealer to buy a '15 based on "information" he has that will increase the price of Laredo trims I am looking by $3,000 or $4,000. I feel like this is just a BS scare-tactic. He bases his claim on the new cost associated with the new 3.6L PUG - which he also claimed is turbocharged. The later bit of information conflicts with reports from this Jeep Garage Mods. Hope we do not see a jump in price that large! I'll call his bluff.
