Thank you Jim. Odd. When I looked this morning it wasn't. Maybe somehow I had cached an old version of the page on my iPad.

Either way, glad the brown will be available on both Overland and Summit. Now if we could get a middle of the road shade of brown/saddle interior on the Overland...

I agree. Very interested in learning more about this model and seeing pics. I hope it does turn out to be a sort of TH2.

Is "Light Bronze trim paint color" the main color, or just a "trim" color? If it's the main color, is it the only color offered? Milous?

Re: 2016 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

It seems the HEMI will be untouched for the '16 model year. Is there any information on what, if anything, they will be doing to it for MY17.

I plan on buying a '16, but if they keep delaying things it might reach a point that it doesn't make sense not to wait for a '17. But if they are going to 'experiment' with old faithful, I don't want to be the Guinea Pig.

I'm in the exact same situation. Will be ready to purchase a new GC early next year, but if they keep delaying the '16s then might as well wait and get a '17 - unless they put a redesigned V8 in it, then I'll be looking for a leftover '15 or 16 on some small dealer's lot 5 states over. I won't be buying first year of an FCA redesigned V8.

Re: 2016 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Bill, I would guess (and it is a guess) that the Hemi will remain unchanged, for the most part, until the new platform arrives. I suspect they are putting development money into more modern power-plants going forward and I can even see a time when such a big displacement engine is no longer an option on "mainstream" trim levels if equivalent performance for towing, etc., can be provided with a more fuel efficient engine. Hemi sales now are probably made up entirely of folks who need the capacity or who are enthusiasts. The vast majority do not opt for the larger engine when you run the numbers.

Agreed, although you may not see a 5.7L in the next gen...

Re: 2016 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Just thinking out loud, but if anyone has thoughts or information.

How likely is it that Jeep Australia, with their new USA sourced CEO, will have seen the error of their ways and make sure to specify a front end on the MY16 GC that can accept the USA style recovery points?

Also, how likely is it that ACC will be fitted, or be an option on Aus Spec Limited?

Anyone have a view - or am I just dreaming....

I thought I read quite a while back that the recovery hook issue had to do with some regulation in Australia. Could be wrong ... as always.

It was a proposed pedestrian safety standard that has not been introduced into Australia
Jeep AU just keep using it as an excuse for their stuff up

Yep - our brainiac Jeep Australia drongos decided that recovery points on a 4x4 we're not a necessity, and tried to tell lies about Australian design rule compliance.

Yet the MY11 came with with the hooks and even some small number of MY14. And now the Cherokee Trailhawk comes with them.

Anyhoo....

Re: 2016 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I find it odd that Jeep has published in detail what colors you will be able get inside and out, but no details on whether or not the 2016 Grand Cherokee's new electronic steering will also come with Lane Departure Warning, or the Lane Sense Active Lane Keeping as found in the Cherokee since 2014. After all, you can paint any car any color, what makes this $50k+ car different from their $35k car should be it's capabilities and technologies.
